Do you not realize they are relying on a seven-footer who has played a grand total of 31 games over his first three seasons due to persistent foot and knee issues and another player who missed his entire rookie year and is being held out for Summer League?

There is absolutely no evidence that Embiid is going to stay healthy. As a matter of fact, there is more evidence that points to the notion that he will probably be an injury-prone player for his entire career.

Imagine if the Celtics were depending on Embiid and Simmons. What would everyone be saying?

"THESE GUYS WON'T EVEN BE ABLE TO STAY HEALTHY!"

"AINGE WILL JUST BE PAYING HOSPITAL BILLS!"

"MIGHT AS WELL SIGN GREG ODEN, TOO!"

But because it's a division rival and not us, a lot of you are worried sick and it's funny.

The overreactions here are absolutely hilarious.

That franchise deserves nothing. You do not help the process. Hopefully Danny is working his magic.

It's not so much that people think Embiid will be healthy or not, it's just that this wasn't a deal we necessarily HAD to make, and by doing it with an EC team you are helping a potential opponent. If they had a slightly lesser offer with a Western team, it's easily arguable that that would have been preferable, because you're helping a team that you won't face in the playoffs until the Finals, and making the other conference more competitive with no impact on your own playoff seeding.

By taking their future 1st rounders we are doing the opposite of helping the process.  We are squashing it.
