I don't really want to do it.  In theory I love it but the guy's recent injury history is not good.  I don't think you want to be the team to give him this next contract.

If the number was the deal breaker you get McHale on line 2 and seal the deal. They were going to do it for Durant.

link??

what number does he wear? He wore 23 in college and 32 in NBA both of which are retired numbers.

Does Kevin McHale grant him permission to wear #32? Now that I think about it, this could be how the Celtics lure him...

"Hi Blake, Danny Ainge. Are you ok if I bring Kevin McHale onto this line?"

please provide link that he is basically a done deal.

Never give back a retired number - those banners and numbers in the rafters are as important as the parquet floor as far as I am concerned. I would not have sold out #35 to Durant either - If they want to come here, they jump into the Celtic culture with both feet !!

If Griffin wants to sign for a moderate salary (12M), then I would take him. Otherwise, he is too much of an injury risk.

Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce

I agree- Griffin isn't likely to come to Boston. The Clippers are closer to winning right now than the Celtics, esp if they somehow secured Hayward or another scoring wing.
The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.
