KO sign and trade possibilities

Curious to see if this is a real option.

If anyone knows how this would work, maybe give an example of a deal that everyone would accept (including KO, I presume), I would love to know more.

I'd love to get a rebounding big back.

You'd maybe get a 2nd rounder back in return. However there is really no big incentive for the buying club to do anything like that.

Depending on our scenario we might not want to take back any salary either

Pretty unlikely. Sign and trades just don't happen very often; there's usually no incentive for a signing team. We'd essentially have to convince the signing team that we'd match any offer sheet unless they give us something in return, which is not going to happen.

It could be a scenario where the other team wants to release their own player to make a space for a player from our team that they wanted.

The most likely way to get something for KO in a sign-and-trade is over the cap (or would be after signing him) but either has non-guaranteed contracts or a trade exception large enough to fit in his contract.  Those teams would need Ainge's help to make a deal work.  Any other team will just dare Ainge to match their offer, which he's certain to do if he misses out in free agency, or just wait for Ainge to make KO unrestricted if the Celtics are successful in free agency.

I don't know off hand if there are any teams with enough in nonguaranteed contracts or trade exceptions.
