I still don't think we can win this series, but have a good feeling about Game 2.
Despite what the players said about believing they could win the series, I think there was a psychological component at play in Game 1 where the Celtics felt like everything had to be perfect. That led to the players pressing more than usual and not being themselves.
Our defense was absolutely atrocious for much of the first game. Some of that was due to how talented the Cavs are, but you have to think that it'll improve in this game once our heads are right. We also missed a ton of open looks early in the first game. If we'd made the shots we normally make in the first game, the entire complexion of the game changes. Lastly, I'm sure the players have heard the media's narrative that the Celtics are completely outclassed in this series, and this team thrives when everyone doubts them. I think we'll play better defensively, shoot better and be more consistent with that nasty/maniacal effort that we saw late in the third quarter of Game 1. I also wouldn't be surprised to see some more skirmishes tonight. This team has too much pride to go quietly, and I think it'll pay off with a W tonight.
