Doesn't matter what we need. At #1 you take BPA, and Markelle Fultz is BPA. And yes, he really is that good. He's the best guard prospect since Wall at least, maybe since Rose.
He's better than them

I think he might be a better prospect than Wall. I wasn't following the draft when Rose was a prospect, but from what I gather, he was regarded extremely highly. The point is that he's a truly elite prospect; notice how I haven't even mentioned someone as highly regarded as Kyrie.

Going by college stats Fultz was the better player. Wall wasn't much of a shooter coming out of college (and still isn't). Wall is a better athlete than Fultz and is a better passer and defender (when he wants to be). Fultz should (assuming he develops) be the better shooter and the better scorer if Wall doesn't get a more reliable jumper.

Overall I'd take Fultz out of college before I'd take Wall out of college. Because...

shooting/scoring > passing/top end speed

Yep I agree.  He's a better prospect than when Wall, Rose, and Irving were coming out.  Rose and Irving weren't even no brainer choices.  Irving's draft was pretty bad in the early stages, and it wasn't definite that Irving would be the first pick.  And wasn't there a Rose vs Beasley debate?

Don't his knees issues scare folks.   I would not take Ball under any circumstance but Fultz missed a lot of games this year.   I want him medically cleared.

Not unless there is something actually physically wrong with them.

My wife is a Physical Therapist. Knee issues could be poor stretching before and after games(18 year olds don't stretch like they should), or the fact that he's 18 and could still be growing, from measurements from last year to this, he's grown half inch to an inch depending who you are looking at. Kids body hasn't settled yet, so things are still in motion, and it takes more of a toll on him than some one whos done growing.

I've been looking for issues with his knees in reports about him and they've been very little.

Remember when there were rumors of Rondo for Curry and every one was worried about Curry's ankles, hasn't been much of an issue since.

Now I'm hoping for the still growing, he hits a legit 6'5" or 6'6", that would be nice.

I think you might be understating just how athletic and fast Wall is. His speed, in particular, is so overwhelming (which bodes well for Fox, who is the fastest guy I've seen since Wall). But yeah, Markelle is probably a better prospect than Wall. When you look at the numbers Markelle put up last year, they're nothing short of unprecedented.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

On the stuff that predates my interest in the draft, I'll defer to an analyst whose opinion I value. From last year:

These are different games and articles he missed.

Take a look and ask her, it sounds like he had a sore knee from a injury.
