Lets see if Gortat (like Lopez) can handle Horford

Have AB hound Wall from the sec the ball is inbounded... Then Rozier ...then Smart...recycle

Celts cant let the Wizards have a wide open 1st quarter...and it starts with hounding Wall

Full court press or blitz him ...just like they did to IT4

Hard fouls anytime he tries to slash to the basket

Kind of depends.

If Beals play the last two games is based on him being hurt, yes.

If it is based on AB's defense, not so sure.

Not worried about super diver Beal

Wall is everything to that Wizards team

I hear you, but you have to be very careful with a full press on Wall.  If he slips by he is gone.

Agreed.  Wall's speed, ball-handling and passing makes it nearly impossible to slow him down in space.  I doubt it'd work, but I imagine any success with increased pressure would take place in the half-court.  That said, the Celtics have fared much better against the Wiz when the pace is fast and the court is widely spread.

The Horford thing is ridiculous.  All Gortat would do is sit back and wait for Al.  As for pressing Wall, it may be worth a shot but it can't be all out because frankly, NBA point guard in general are too good for that kind defense.  Pretty much all of them (save for Jameer Nelson, ha ha) would break their man down and do damage.  But a softer kind of press where Wall has to work at least a little might no be bad in spots.  Unfortunately, Avery is the only guy that can do that with any effectiveness.  Smart is frankly too slow and vastly overrated around here as a man defender.

Horford did the same thing on Lopez and it worked

In addition threw their D off balance

If anyone can press him is AB..Rozier is not bad also

Brown can definitely do it in space, although I worry about both him and Rozier off of picks. For what you are suggesting, both should be good to go.

I suspect Wall would be pretty happy with the full court press strategy. Easy way to get into the bonus.
