Brandon Ingram isn't even in consideration with his terrible numbers. Seen many laker fans on the laker forums wanting to trade him. Lol
They should have picked Jaylen Brown, lol.  In that case, C's might have taken Ingram. So glad things worked out as they did!

Good he utterly deserves it. He has proven that he could become a very serviceable shooter one day, he is a physical beast for his position, and he has shown a knack for making special plays when given the opportunity. For a rookie on the 1/2 seed in the east, he has done everything asked of him. This is even before you take into account his better than advertised defense.

He deserves to be on the 1st rooks team. I know, I know that it will be cluttered by scrubs who put up better numbers on dumpster fire of teams, but Jaylen has been very effective on a very good team. The only other rookie who has had a better impact on a good team is Brogdon, and he has a lot bigger role.

Kudos to Jaylen, don't rob him NBA. Embiid, Saric, Brogdon, Murray and Brown should be the starting 5 in my opinion.

Amen.................

He improved over the course of the year and he's young. If Lakers fans are writing him off now, they are even quicker to judge than us.

Fans always have a reactionary group who want immediate gratification. I remember how Avery Bradley was the worst bust in draft history for like a season and a half until it suddenly turned out he could play.

Can a guy drafted 19th be a bust?  It did take him a long time to show signs though.

yes, absolutely.

Cant be the "worst bust in draft history" but you expect the guy you pick at 19 to at least become an NBA player. He doesnt need to be a starter, but you expect to get a role-player even if he is a bottom half of the bench type guy.

Fab Melo is a bust. No doubt.

IMO Ingram is going to play at another level by next season. He is incredibly young for his draft class and the added strength/weight/experience/training will really show early on next season.

I'd still love to trade for him

I'd love to get Ingram too but the Lakers aren't trading him.  He's their best shot at developing a star.

Ingram and Jaylen would be a pretty tough 2/3
Ya but he did not blow up op this season or stake his claim as a legit star. IMO he will be a star but maybe if the Lakers got the 3rd pick ans wanted Tatum or JJ they may be willing to trade Ingram.
Ingram is still younger or same age as all players in this years top 10(within.1-.2). He was not measured at the combine but I think if he had his wingspan would be 7'4'' and standing reach of 9'2''.

Congrats to Jaylen for at least making the list - truly happy for him.

Him being in Smart's and Crowder's grinder will make him even tougher and better as a player.

Loving his potential and CURRENT play as well.
