Really hope he joins the team next year.  Seems like he could play a solid off the bench role and maybe be a regular rotation player.

I see no reason why Nader, Zizic, and Yabu can't make the roster next year.  The worst case scenario is they take up spots 10-12 and don't see many minutes, but I think they all have a chance of cracking the rotation.

Plus the Brooklyn pick. I don't see 4 rookies making it.
Feel the same way. Just don't see Ainge saddling Stevens with 4 rookies when this team is trying to be a contender

Maybe, but there is a reason they added 2 more spots with the 2way contracts in the new CBA. Danny was probably a ring leader on that change, especially after last season where he had to give away 2 picks. We still have a lot of picks, we needed that change!

Still, there are only five players on the court. And we will also have the Minnesota early 2nd round pick (around 35-37), apart from the Cleveland-Clippers 2nd who will be stashed.

A trade needs to happen one way or another.

Excellent points.

It wouldn't surprise me if Ainge packages some of the early second round picks to try to move up a few spots, assuming there is someone he likes.

If we keep the Brooklyn pick I feel safe saying that player will be part of the rotation.  Stevens seems to be favoring shorter rotations, so I could still see the three players I mentioned making the team.  The Brooklyn pick and Ante would most likely be seeing the floor, and depending on depth needs, Yabu and Nader could get a shot at earning minutes too.

I do feel comfortable predicting the Brooklyn pick and Ante as a part of the rotation, even if they are both rookies.

Ainge still had an embarrassment of riches, that's for sure!

Thanks for the Nader updates. He clearly is burning up to play, seems to be improving at a rapid rate and certainly deserves a chance somewhere. Hope it's with the Cs.

Thanks for update... It would be cool if Nader gets a callup at some point this season.

Pretty sure they'd have to clear a spot for him to make that happen? Young would have to
be moved or waived.
Nader is not a Celtic. He is not on the team. he cannot be called up.

The Celtics would need to somehow get rid of a current player and then signnaderto a contract.

Yes I know he's not a Celtic, which is why I said they would have to clear a spot for him.

But you did bring up a point I wasn't thinking about. So does that mean, even though the Celtics drafted him, they no longer have his draft rights because they didn't sign him? Could another NBA team sign him away from Maine this season?

They kept his draft rights.  He agreed to go to Maine for a year -- that's why he wasn't in training camp, because even a camp invite would mean that the Celtics had used their rights.

if you watch replays, watch how good his left hand is,he is a good foul shooter and has that 7-1.5 wingspan that helps  but the part i like and this in a way is like clay thompson -he doesn't have to bring ball down to load up and he seems to have a long first step
the head of player development said they have had their eye on him as far back as southern illinois thats before his two years at iowa

change of topic, zizic in his most recent game showed his ability to switch to block shots  and added a couple real nice moves that were not just dunks-i think he will outperform zubac -has better motor and quicker, an all around better athlete

jackson is struggling and doesn't seem to have control on the court-even ryan kelly thinks he is a guard(brought the ball up against pressure and put it around back twice, stays on perimeter to shoot
nader is a defacto point quard and everybody chucks threes-not a good situation although frazier thrived the only guy who plays his position is jordan mickey

I d love to seen him in a game with starters ( quality players) and see how he does.  I was impressed with his cool calm , yet intensity in Summer league .  I never saw him hesitate to rebound , shoot or make the correct pass.  He was not intimidated like the 19 year olds .   This is what I like about Brown too.....I 'd like Nader to have a shot.  He is built sturdy too.

Nader at best is a mid rotation bench player. Dominating the DLeague means very little. He will be groomed as a catch and shoot 3 and D bench player. He is probably going to take up one of those 2 way contracts next year while spending most of the year in Maine.
