Here is another trade idea that came to mind which I think would work really well for all teams involved:

http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=z4svznt

Knicks get:
A.Johnson's $12M expiring, N.Mirotic's $5.8M expiring, a nice young piece in J.Crowder, salary filler in N.Mirotic

Bulls get:
Carmelo Anthony.  A legit star and a fair talent level return for Jimmy Butler.  In addition he's friends with D.Wade, and should have Rondo's respect.  Age lines up better with those guys too.

Celtics get:
Jimmy Butler.  Two-way wing who is a perfect for Boston, and is young enough to fit with the other players on our roster.  Would quickly make us forget about losing Crowder.

I'd be more then happy to throw in a couple of picks for the Bulls if need be.

Only challenge is that Dwyane Wade would need to give his buddy Melo a call to sweet talk him in to waiving that no trade clause.

Not sure the Bulls would do this. I would do it as long as they are non-Brooklyn picks.

Definitely non-Brooklyn picks :)

I guess it all depends on what exactly Chicago want right now.  It doesn't seem like anybody really knows.

Do they want to blow up and rebuild?  Do they just want to improve chemistry?  Do they want to make a playoff run?

They are a hard group to understand right now.

Bulls get older and give up one of the more reasonable contracts in the NBA. Why? From their point of view, they would be entitled to Nets pick(s).

You're crazy if you think we get Butler without giving up the Brooklyn pick plus other assets.  The Bulls aren't going to want Melo either so a 3 team trade doesn't make sense.

Bulls would hang up the phone if the only asset they are getting for Jimmy Butler is a 32 year old Melo on a bad contract.
