I thought this was one of the most complete games on offense I've seen from Smart. He was dare I say Chauncey Billups like.

Yes he really played with that vet like calmness and everything seemed predictable to him. He has defintely much improved as a playmaker this year.
Still this is a not very good Orlando team, that has to come in consideration too.
Keep it up Marcus!

He had some outstanding passes last night. He is easily my favorite player.

Great defense and passing, very few shot attempts.  This might be the way to go for Marcus.

Good comparison though I think Smart is a better defender and Chauncey was probably a better passer.  Billups improved his jump shot later in his career, maybe Smart can do the same.

Yes, and the shots he takes should be scripted for him. No more chucking and off balance free lancing.

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Marcus is shooting 30% from three now this season. This was after he had that AWFUL night going 1/6 from three last week.

Let's hope it slowly climbs to 35%
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I agree, but the whole team was impressive last night. It was one of those games that makes you feel really good to be a Cs fan.

Thank you Magic!

I love Marcus Smart.  I hope he retires as a Celtic.

Billups always had a beautiful stoke.  Came in to the league as a good shooter and basically just had to settle in.  That's not Marcus.

Chauncey had incredible poise as a floor general. I think when people compare Smart to him it's more to do with this then his shooting.

Regarding his shooting he still has a long way to go to gain a consistent shot but he has shown more flashes this year then last year with his shooting.

Marcus plays so much better when he lets the game come to him on offense. His true value is based on his ball-hawking defensive intensity, and his passing...getting others involved on offense.

He's actually a good backup to IT and his game.
