I think holding onto the Nets picks is where we'll most likely end up going now.

If we add someone in free agency that's great.  If not we just extend Thomas and Bradley and let this team ride it out for as long as it can.

In the mean time we'll have Smart/Brown/2017 and 2018 all developing to offer us an immediate bridge to the next generation.  It will be like being Toronto and Minnesota at the same time.  It's not instant championships, but you could do a lot worse.

TP. Agree with all of this.

I imagine if the C's do sign a FA for near-max or max, then only two of IT/Smart/Bradley stay beyond 2018.

If not, they keep all 3. Meanwhile, Ainge would likely have to go the trade route again to find that other star player. After this summer, I think the C's won't have enough cap space to offer any max-contracts. This is the last summer of having a max-slot.

;D what is this? year 4 on the "Cousins" watch?  :D

keep dreaming  -- or maybe we are lucky for dodging that bullet  ;)

Every Boston sports team seems to have that yearly trade or FA target that never happens. (Rumors for more than 2+ years)

Red Sox - Cole Hamels
Celtics - Kevin Love, DeMarcus Cousins
Bruins - Trouba
Patriots - Larry Fitzgerald

Would put Chris Sale but the RS were like "eff it, let's sell the farm some more" on Sale and miraculously got him.

Sox had Stanton for a while.

With dombrowski in charge I imagine they won't have many more of these types.
