Minus Jason Kidd is this current Celtics roster more talented?

Reason being is that We have a chance at J Kidd JR in Lonzo ball. I believe he could elevate the Celtics to a different level.

 2003 Nets

 Kidd 18.7 ppg
 Jefferson  15.5 ppg
 K Martin 16.7 ppg
 Kerry Kittles 13.0 ppg
 L Harris 10.3 ppg
 R Rogers
 Mutumbo
 Aaron Williams
 Chris Child's
 Scalabrine

Besides Kenton Martin the answer is the Celtics by a mile. Horford is probably better than prime K Mart and the rest of the roster we crush them.

Brown should be equal to RJ in two years. Bradley is better than  Kittles. Thomas, Smart, Crowder all better than the Nets counterpart.

It's unfortunate that Lebron's team would probably crush that team

The 03 Nets weren't that great.  East was very weak back then

100%. The East was producing a bunch of mediocre basketball. That Nets team isn't a great milestone.

I think Brad/Danny have a really fun brand of basketball. Run and gun offense without being soft on defense. They are a big and a very good scorer away from title contention.
The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.

My main point is that Lonzo ball could very well end up being a Jason Kidd type player.

Not saying he's going to become him, but he at least has the potential to become similar.

Hey Foot TP brother. If we added Ball we have a better supporting cast than Kidd Ever did.

Now all ball has to do is to live up to him is end of the deal and become Jason Kidd!
In the NBA! I would love to see the experiment.

Jason Collins started for that team and played around 24 mpg.  He is a better rebounder than Johnson, but not much else.  Kittles was an excellent three point shooter (especially in that time).  A bit better all around offensive player than Bradley but not nearly the defender.  Again edge to Boston.  Richard Jefferson was significantly better than Crowder though.  Much more complete offensive game, a better rebounder, and an underrated defender.  Kenyon Martin and Al Horford are completely different players stylistically.  Martin was a much better interior scorer than Horford, but had no outside game at all (which fit more that year).  Martin was a better rebounder.  Horford is the better defender, but I'm not sure Horford can really guard a guy like Martin in the post.  The game is just so much different now.  Boston has a better bench but Harris, Rogers, Johnson, Williams, and Mutumbo were all cagey veterans that could still perform at times in clutch situations.

Taking the PG's out of it, I'd say the teams were about equal when considering the style of play in the time period the teams were in.

That '03 Nets team might be the worst Eastern Conference champ in my lifetime.   It was also probably the nadir for the conference.  Just awful back then.

'16 Celtics could definitely give that team a run for their money.  Would be something to see Smart guarding Kidd.

That Nets team was very good defensively.  4th best defensive eFG%, combined with the 6th-best DRB% and 3rd-best TO%.  They were also very good at getting to the line, which helped make up for their shooting deficiencies a bit.

Also, Jason Kidd was 29 years old on the 2003 Nets.  Rookie, or even 3rd year, Lonzo Ball is highly unlikely to be as good as Jason Kidd in 2003, so I'm not quite sure the point of this comparison in teams.
