Karl blasts Melo, Smith in new book

George Karl kind of sucks to be honest.

I mean, we understand you had issues, and grievances, but why air them out now? Clearly he's trying to profit off of his ex players, and instead of mending broken bridges is blatantly just trying to make it even more difficult for anyone to ever give him any coaching position or analyst spot.

Karl has always seemed like the guy who you had a love and hate relationship with.

A lot of the things he's said is true, but he comes off as a very self-centered me first guy with the creation of this book.

Exactly. He's bitter and basically has given up on ever being hired again as a coach or even an analyst. Just look at what Doc or Mark Jackson or Van Gundy did in between coaching jobs. They went on tv regularly as analysts and made respectable comments and never trashed anybody personally. That's why they still have jobs. It's a players league, you trash the players in personal ways, you will end up unemployed. Nobody pays to see George Karl, and unlike Pop, Doc, or Carslile, he has never won a title and his attitude has something to do with it.

Yeah, but isn't Karl just echoing things we already knew? Martin, Melo, and Smith have always been questionable players, at best. Their effort, selfishness, and numbers-focus have always been in question, but now when one of their coaches says it, instead of an analyst, we get upset?

George Karl is 65 years old and has had some serious health issues, so he's probably okay with not coaching in the NBA again.

He also has 1999 wins and a .588 winning percentage in the Association and his last two jobs ended when he was fired in Denver after winning 57 games in the regular season and then fired in Sacramento after they won 33 games...which was the most wins the Kings had in EIGHT YEARS.  And since getting rid of Karl, Denver has won 36, 30, 33 and is on pace to win about 34 games this year.

If Karl can't make it in the NBA any longer, that would seem to indicate something is wrong with the NBA and not Karl.

Pretty sure Cousins, JR Smith, Carmelo Anthony, and Kenyon Martin won't be in line for his. 

yeah but here we are talking about it and if he didnt rip on these guys I dont think many people would be talking about George Karl's biography so looks like he came out on top.

Karl doesn't just bash guys like Martin, Melo and Smith, though (and feel free to add Ty Lawson and DMC to that list).  He's also gone after good guys like Ray Allen, Kendall Gill, Andre Iguodala and Seth Curry.

Yeah, it's totally the NBA's fault that Karl conveniently manages to engage in public feuds with players at literally every single stop, from Kendall Gill to freaking Seth Curry.
