I read recently (I believe it was an article that came out after RJ was cut) that Ainge wanted to draft Larry Nance Jr but the Lakers took him a pick earlier.  Too bad, as Nance is looking good this year.

Man, I don't know how to feel   :-\ ... I'm glad he didn't become the new Joe Johnson or Billups  but that pick man, I don't feel good seeing it go to waste.  But I guess at least we have this

Here's the crux. Draft picks have become pure crapshoots. However, nearly every good future player comes from the draft. Danny's job is to roll dice and prune.

I think RJ Hunter should have made the team based on his one dominating preseason game. But it's not like Danny cut Marcus Smart. Danny could have kept Datome for tall shooting guard. He's obviously aware of the position. Someone needs to tap Danny on the shoulder and mention the word center.

The lesson of RJ and Pressey for young players on the bubble is they better improve more quickly like Rozier did or they will be the next to go.

James Young
Demetrius Jackson
Nader
Jordan Mickey
guys like Zizac and Yabusele

Integrating young guys like Jaylen Brown and Terry Rozier into the rotation is enough work. Guys like Horford and Isaiah might have to be patient and accept that the new players need time to grow while in the rotation. I dont understand what the rush is. I'm confident Jaylen Brown can become a reliable rotation backup by the end of the year.

This is a fun team trending upward.

We need to upgrade backup center. That's the big hole, maybe the last one to fill. Avery Bradley might have become a Big Three player. I would take his game right now over Ray Allen's in 2008.

Will Horford slow down too soon? That's to be seen. Pau Gasol is apparently still dominating and he must be in his late forties by now.

Gerald Green has a chance, but he needs to step it up with efficiency. He is running out of outs. If Jaylen can put together a good stretch of games, Green might be done as a Celtic. Zeller looks done as long as Olynyk and Amir play well. Just looking ahead I guess.
