How long can he keep this up?

He won't average 8 rebounds a game for the season, surely.  But how many 'bounds will he continue to grab?

What's strangest about his rebounding so far this season is that for his career before this year he grabbed about 6% of available rebounds.  He's grabbing double that this year.

In the last thirty years or so, the most rebounds per game a guy 6'2'' or shorter has grabbed is 6 (Rondo, last year in SAC).

I suspect Avery beasting the boards is a by-product of the team missing its two best frontcourt players, but for any stretch of time it is really impressive, especially for a small guard like Avery who has never averaged more than 3.8 rebounds before in his career.

Rondo was pulling down 8 a game when we dumped him for 'spare parts'. Did he tail off that much?

I reckon Bradley's rebounding numbers will gradually ease off.

He is athletic and moves well, a lot of rebounds today go long because of all the threes shot.  I would expect this to happen more league wide as it becomes a three point league.

Rondo at least had a track record of grabbing a lot of boards.  Avery didn't have much of a track record of rebounding before this.

It'd be cool if somebody on the front page did a breakdown showing what he's doing differently now to get so many rebounds.

Avery has made a concerted effort to crash the boards more this year, it seems from interviews.

It makes you wonder what Jeff Green would have been able to do if he cared enough to try...

I agree. The leap in his rebounding numbers is fascinating.

He is 6' 2" and, while a great athlete, has a slight frame...despite the super small sample size, he is really surprising me with his rebounding.

I think he'll keep it up until we have a capable big man who can rebound
I trust Danny Ainge

It will probably drop a bit once Jae and Horford are back.
