Besides the issues with conditioning/weight which are definitely big one's..no pun intended...He has been a model citizen since he has been a Celtics player and has never once publicly voiced displeasure over anything that I can remember. It sounds like he is very grateful to our organization and these are the types of people that I enjoy rooting for. Of course I do not believe he is worth a huge chunk of our salary cap but if he comes back on a 1 plus 1 deal, I would be happy with that.

Why do people hate Sullinger so much?  Guy has played well for us.  Yes, he struggles with his weight.  It's his body type. It ain't easy given his metabolism.

I agree. Just like Big Baby. That's just his body type and he'll never change it.

Rather than looking at this as a basketball thing, look ing at it in a different context, perhaps he is making a political or socialogical statement.

Thwn again, getting back to basketball, perhaps he assumes he will be back and that he has inside info on a Danny Ainge trade that will be going down sometime this summer

He definitely can`t turn into Mutombo with 1% body fat and nobody expects that but is completely possible to lose weight and change the metabolism. Not easy but it can be done if you are very disciplined. He doesn`t look like he is trying at all.

He's obviously referencing the two black men who were shot by police in the past 2 days.

Wouldn't go so far as to say he has been a model citizen. Guy got physical with his girl a couple years back and he is lucky charges were dropped.  Doesn't much factor into this decision however.

Waste of a talent and a big tease.  If he lost 50 pounds he's a borderline allstar imo.

I maybe should have been more clear. I agree it's harder for some than others due to metabolism issues but people can do it. It's all just about having to work harder. Since it's his only job and has all the resources in the world, to me, he has no excuse whatsoever. People with diabetes and severe weight problems overcome it thru guts and determination and they're not filthy rich. They have to hold real jobs too. What Sully must eat has to be just staggering to actually GAIN weight during a hoop season. I say hit the road, Jack. I was 100 lbs heavier at one stage in life myself. It's hard work but that's it. It's not like you have a problem like being in a wheel chair . Now THAT is a problem. I just have no sympathy whatsoever and I think he insults his teammates and organization coming in fat.

I personally never bought the whole metabolism excuse. Look at the biggest loser show. While that's probably not the best way to lose weight it's obvious it can be done. He has millions to help him get whatever help he needs. He's lazy. Pure and simple.
you might want to do some more research on this topic before posting. the weight problems that abound in the US are tied to a lot more than being lazy. next, metabolism differences do make a difference...as anyone who was once 20 and is now middle aged can tell you.  ;D

He is a professional athlete whose only job is to play basketball. He isn't a 9-5er who  doesn't have enough time in the day to make it to the gym. He has access to trainers and every piece of workout equipment known to man, and probably his own personal chef if he wanted. He struggles with commitment, not weight.

P.S. I don't hate Sullinger

Yes, definitely. Sorry if my "wrinkle" comment was convoluted.
