Assuming Durant does not sign in Boston. The big rotation should look like this.

 Horford, Amir, Zizic
 Olynyk, French Freak, Mickey

Hard to say, I might want Jonas over someone here, If we need Outside shooting then Bentil could have a small chance at making the team.

Do you guys feel comfortable with a big man rotation like this. I really like the Center rotation actually, PF is a little more iffy, If the French fry or Mickey can step up that would be huge.

I believe that Yabu is a stash so he won't be coming over this year.
Zizic will probably also be a stash although it sounds like he might want to come over.
But we'd have to negotiate a buyout with his team?

We probably won't find out till after Durant makes his decision and free agency finishes.
I honestly wouldn't mind bringing over 1 of Zizic or Yabu.
Preferably Zizic since he is an excellent rebounder and has nice size/height 6'11 250 lbs.

The fact that Zizic isn't on the SL roster is telling me not to expect him this season. Otherwise, we will probably be fine with Horford, Johnson, Olynyk, Jerebko, and Mickey -- which I anticipate our big man rotation to be at the start of season if we strike out on Durant.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Horford is our Sully replacement. It remains to be seen if Mickey will be out Zeller replacement, but he should be able to handle consistent spot minutes pretty easily. I see no problem bringing in Zizic or Yab to learn from our solid team.

This is all assuming we keep Amir and JJ.

If Durant does not sign, Amir/JJ could be back but prolly not Sully or Zeller.

With stashing of Zizic and Yabu, I feel like Bentil could make the team.

Could end up with: Horford, Amir, Olynyk, JJ, Bentil, Mickey

Seems a little light, but in today's NBA it could work.

Maybe we could use Amir and JJ in a trade to a team that is moving on from a player and wants player development at the position.
What are some deals we could do that would essentially be like the IT trade? Maybe something for Eric Bledsoe

Teams can still waive Amir and JJ if we trade them now right?TP for the answer

I believe it is yes and that's why I would look to trade them for longer term value.

Zizic is playing for his national team, as stated in other threads.

I'd like to add another big, someone to really bang with large centers.

I've seen this, but in this story it doesn't appear that he made the national team. Did they add him to the roster?

They can be waived up until July 5, I believe. Their guarantee date is July 7, but they need to clear waivers first.

on zizac, i have read differing accounts. one says his team did not permit him time off for the summer league, but he plays to come over and play this year.

others are similar to what you cite - one year more in europe.

for yabusele, he is under contract and is expected to stay for one more year in europe. however, his team let him play in the summer league.

so...i am not sure we know yet what will happen with zizac. but we can hope for the best.

I'm gonna agree ^^
I'd like to see Horford be positioned at center 70-75% of HIS minutes. I'd also like to see a true center, not named Zeller, be brought in when we need to match up big.

Without Sully, we're gonna need a guy that can help on the boards.

Horford only gets 1 less RPG.   He also can be relied to stay in shape and not shoot in the low 40s from the field and gain weight the season.

No one has shown in any interest in Sullinger during free agency.  People outside Boston are not delusional about his value.  He can rebound.   His D is shoddy at times but he is unreliable.   If he was unreplacable would not some team offer him something by now?

No durant our center depth is:
Horford, Amir (back and healthy) Kelly and if we bring zeller back on the affordable plan
That is pretty deep to me, all good height, well rounded players, zeller weak one but 3/4th string

plus Mickey.  That'll work.
