The Minnesota Timberwolves are looking to bring an established big man to play alongside Rookie of the Year winner Karl Anthony-Towns. The Timberwolves are in need of some help with rebounding. Kenneth Faried fits that bill. He puts in a lot of effort on fighting for rebounds and is a very good hustle player in the NBA. Faried is a very quality player on a very reasonable contract.

I don't think this will move much needles for the wolves, imo. Farried is a great rebounder and energy guy. But he will play the 4 and he doesn't have a mid-range game to compliment Towns. Paint will be clogged with both him and Towns under the basket.

Send them a package built around Smart and Amir for the 5th pick, then take Bender.

I would rather see them get a skilled PF next to Towns to better take advantage of Towns' high post passing and shooting ... but in a different albeit lesser way, I love the idea of Faried next to Towns.

The Wolves could greatly benefit from having Faried's rebounding, defensive energy and hustle. Neither Towns or Wiggins are leaders yet. Faried will be a great example to them in terms of effort and energy. He inspires players around him to give more effort.

With Faried, Towns and Rubio - the Wolves have a great foundation to be one of the top rebounding teams in the league. Extra possessions are very valuable. They also have a strong defensive foundation there and should be a top 10 defensive team in near future. Good foundation for winning basketball.

Ainge won't want to get fired for Bender.

LOL 5th for Faried... now I have heard it all.   Putting Faried next to Towns would be a terrible idea.  Trading the 5th for him would be something Billy King might do.

Why? Towns can play out on the perimeter

Faried likes to roam around the paint

His defense and work ethic will be loved by thibs

He is not a good defender and has no use on the offensive end.  His defenders don't even bother with defending him half the time.
