Kris Dunn has significant traction in Boston as No. 3 pick, sources tell @TheVertical. No final decision -- and trades remain on table

Woj: Celtics front office says indirectly to trade partners, "nudge nudge, guys, are you listening?"

As expected after yesterday's report.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

I think this is the moment where reporters are at a significant disadvantage.  They do not have access to front office conversations yet they are trying to speculate about what the teams will do.  Most of it comes out sounding no better than what any informed fans could say.

As long as there is no deal, they can say "there is no deal".  Whoop-de-do.

If there is a player that a team likes, they can say "significant traction".  What does that mean?  Really, nothing.

It's going to be an interesting evening.  Until then, all speculation, all the time.

This is from Woj's sources which given his track record are almost certainly legit.  The sources may not be giving a completely honest accounting of our front office strategy, and the terms used definitely leave a ton of wiggle room, but it's not just Woj speculating.

I fully expect us to pick Dunn whether or not a trade has been announced at that point. Could easily trade him after.

I can't decide if a Love for Mayo type deal is my preference or players like Noel + future picks is my preference.

If I had to guess, I would say this is a decoy.  I think if we are making the pick with the intent to keep the pick, it will not be Dunn.  To me, Brown and Bender seem like the guys Danny would pick if we plan to keep the pick.  Maybe Chriss too although he seems like a reach at #3.
