Smart is a stud player in the making.  Do not trade.  I also think people get on Sully too much but that's beside the point.

1:45 Smart became a star.

I agree with you.  I can see Marcus being the best player in a quite a few playoff games before his career is done.

I like Smart and hope for the best but honestly I have no idea how you guys have come to this conclusion? He played well in the playoffs I'll give you that but FAR from a star level. ???

Unbelievable how all over the board we are as fans.  Anyone of five guys at #3 (Dunn, Chris, Murray, Brown, and Bender).  After the second pick, this draft falls off the cliff.

You forgot about Hield, who absolutely belongs in that conversation.
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

I disagree with the two player rhetoric.  I have the top 5 as Simmons, Dunn, Ingram/Bender, Murray.  I don't want Brown and would be ok with Hield if it involves trading down to 7-10.  Dunn to me is the next DWade if he is healthy.

Yup, sure did.  Thanks.

So any one of six players.

6 guys.  I don't see us moving the pick even for Love.  Butler is worth it but doubt the Bulls will.

I'm still on the Dragan train. I hope we take him.  We don't need guards.

I think Bender has the highest up side at pick number 3. He needs to be seen in workouts to be properly evaluated. Just not enough film on him against quality competition to make a decision.

Until then no decisions should be made, it's easy to say he's nothing, just pass on him, but you don't want to turn away a "Dirk" type talent.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Our moves in order of Danny's preference:

1)Trade #3, AB +Rozier for Jimmy Butler.
2) Trade #3 for Okafor.

If we keep the pick or choose to draft:
1) Draft Bender, trade him to PHX for #4 and swap #23 for #13, we then:
- take Buddy Hield with #4 (or Jaylen Brown)
- take Deytona Davis with #13 (or Dejounte Murray)
- take Damian Jones with #16 (or Malachi Richardson)

If we don't trade with PHX we'll draft Bender or Hield.

I just think with the importance that shooters have had on the course of the NBA recently, that Hield and Murray will be in demand. The fact we haven't heard much about Hield leading up to the draft means that GM's are being secretive about their intentions for him. Murray is being really puffed up, as is Marquese Chriss, although Murray's defensive issues really stand out to me. I don't know how much he can improve his athleticism to become a solid NBA defender because he's pretty terrible right now.

I think it's why his agent wanted an individual workout to focus on his shooting, and I think the C's value defensive potential at the top of their list. I'm still not sure what Austin Ainge's comments about Murrary being 'better than a chair' meant. I think he was p---ed that they couldn't see Murray playing against some real length and guarding some real athletes and it's probably dropped Murray out of the equation for #3 for us.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

  • GOT IT!!!
I'm leaning towards Bender if the C's keep the pick. I guess cause he has so many unknowns about him compared to the other guys lol

I want the C's to make a trade tho. I feel like we have reached that point in the rebuild to overpay if need be.

I'm still in the Buddy Buckets Camp but opening up to the Chriss Kid..

I just hope we can build something with this pick that could be the Centerpiece for a 2 or 3 separate runs at the ring like Kobe in LA...  My fear is that we trade the Pick for Butler or Love and end up being the footstool for the Cavs for as long as Lebron is playing ..  (Like OKC is for GS)

Cousins and George are the only players I feel that are worth the Pick being involved.
If we get Butler, we should also be getting Durant for sure (Even though I don't feel those 2 plus Horford beats Cle or Gs)
