Step 1: Trade
Trade Amir Johnson + Kelly Olynyk + 2016 Pick #3 + Future 1st round pick (not 2017 to void swap with Brooklyn)
for
Danillo Gallinari + 2016 Pick #7

Step 2: Draft
Pick #7: Jakob Poeltl
Pick #16: Furkan Korkmaz
Pick #23: Denzel Valentine
Pick #31/35/45/51/58: Thon Maker/Joel Bolomboy/Ben Bentil/Zhou Qi/Khalil Felder

Step 3: Free Agency
Sign Al Horford
Sign Paul Pierce (Farewell Tour)
Retain Jonas Jerebko

Resulting Team
Ball Handlers: Isaiah Thomas/Marcus Smart/Terry Rozier
Wings: Avery Bradley/RJ Hunter/Denzel Valentine
Swings: Danillo Gallinari/Paul Pierce/Jae Crowder/Jonas Jerebko
Bigs: Al Horford/Jakob Poeltl/Jordan Mickey

Bench/Draft & Stash/D-League: Furkan Korkmaz/Khalil Felder/Zhou Qi/Thon Maker/Ben Bentil/Joel Bolomboy

This team contends for sure and none of these moves are extraordinarily out of the question.

What??? I love Gallo but that is too much for the oft-injured player. You lost me at Step 1.

Why do you think this?

Kelly Olynyk was Pick #13 and quite honestly he is a stiff. Can't stand him as a player and look fwd to the day we rid ourselves of him.

Amir Johnson is just a matching contract.

So we pay (1) future 1st round pick (which with our team approaching consistent contention will not be lottery) and give up 4 draft spots in this year's draft for Gallinari. That isn't good return on value for the upside of Gallinari?

tend to doubt Ainge sees it that way.

gallo's contract kinda sucks for a guy who absolutely cannot stay healthy.

Wouldnt mind the trade but trades deals like this almost never happen in the NBA.

Im not sure why Denver would want to do the deal.

That is a horrible trade. But decent draft and FA. C's should try and get Pierce in here to replace Turner. Galli is not worth dropping 4 spots that high in the draft. The guy is a injury waiting to happen and doesn't move the needle.

Pierce is still under contract with the Clippers this upcoming season.

Good catch on Pierce being under contract. But a trade to facilitate his retirement a Celtic might be something that hits home for Doc (i.e. if PP requested I'm sure Doc would oblige).

I see the risk on Gallo obviously, but I also see the upside potential.

That team would be great...

Gallo games played for his career:
28 (Rookie)
81
62
43
71
59
53

Taking out his rookie campaign, he has played in 75% of games.

Really dont see this moving the needle too much. Heck it might be a step backwards. Two firsts(one being the #3) and KO and Amir are a  lot to give up for an oft injured 3/4 in Gallo who isnt a bonafide, difference making star and Poetlt. This team is also littered with 1st and 2nd year players that are going to have to be part of the rotation. Sorry but deep playoff teams arent made up such that over half the players on the roster are 1st and 2nd year players. They just arent. This proposal doesnt make the Celtics a contender, IMO.

That 43 is a little misleading, it was in the 66-game 2012 season (Still bad, but not as bad)
I'm bitter.

Fixed.

Also, Is that supposed to be encouraging? Thats not very good. In the last 5 years hes played 226 games out of 389 ( I think) Thats 58%.

3 knee surgeries in the last 3 years. As you noted above hes only played more than 60 games once in the last 5 seasons.

Don't understand your depth here. I think a starting lineup would probably look something like: IT/AB/Crowder/Gallo/Horford.

I am also no so sure Paul gets any minutes on this team. So he certainly wouldn't be ahead of Crowder.

I disagree.

That team is not a contender for anything beyond the first round.

First and foremost, that would be an even worse team on the boards than this year's Celts.

Also the potential for major injury in the starting lineup between Bradley Gallo and Horford is enormous.
