What I found interesting are the trade suggestions:
Outgoing:
Avery Bradley, the 3rd pick in the 2016 NBA draft and the 35th pick in the 2016 NBA draft.

Incoming:
Jimmy Butler.

AND

Outgoing:
Marcus Smart, the 16th overall pick in the 2016 NBA draft and Boston’s 2017 1st round pick.

Incoming:
Marc Gasol.

Pretty good haul without giving up our Nets 2017 pick!
Line up

IT
Butler
Crowder
KO
Gasol

We don't own the Nets '17 pick, we own a pick swap.  So if we traded our '17 pick we're also trading our rights to swap for that Nets '17 pick.

I like the Butler trade. I don't like the Gasol trade. Giving up Smart, a likely to-5 pick in the Nets 2017,  and a mid-1st for an aging player coming off a major injury, I can't see Ainge doing that unless he knows Durant signs with us if he does it.

I don't like the future nets pick being traded along with smart.

Maybe offer Memphis back it's pick along with a couple of 2nds.

That's a significant overpay for Marc Gasol, and arguably more for him then we would be giving up for Butler.
Brooklyn could very well be the worst team in the league next year so in theory we are giving up Gasol and the 2017 #1 for a 30+ year old center coming off a major season ending injury.

I'd do Smart and the 16th for Gasol.. but that's it.

  • That's turrible
We need to keep one of Smart or Bradley. They are the reason why we have one of the best perimeter defenses in the league. Getting rid of both will do more harm to this team defensively than good.

Yup. They are the reason we ended Golden State's 54 home win streak.  Better not give up both for guys who routinely lose to the Golden States of the world.  Better keep at least one of them and find a way to add to them/him instead.  (big yes to Marc Gasol and Butler both, but at the right cost).

Some thoughts here:

Neither of those Celtics trades work on Draft Night per CBA rules. They'd have to be completed after July 1.
