If fireworks don't happen, would anyone else be interested in taking a one year flier on Big Al? He can still score in bunches and he rebounds well, which is a major need of ours. He does what Okafor does but does it better and won't cost us our #3 pick. Thoughts?

He is ANCIENT.  He is years older than he is chronologically.  He is not a great rebounder any more.  He has NO lift left!!  I live about 45 minutes from Time Warner Area (Hornets' home), and see a LOT of their games.  Did I mention that he is even MORE horrific defensively?

Don't be fooled by his PER in his case.  He is efficient WHEN on the floor, but he is in such bad shape that he simply canNOT stay on the floor.  Have you seen him sweat about a gallon after just five minutes running up and down the floor?

He's exactly the center the C's don't need.

He's an aging, pound the ball down low, in a slowdown offensive scheme. Exactly what DA and Stevens say they don't want.

Yeah I acknowledged his awful defense... but he can score down low and rebound. I wouldn't mind him on a cheap one year deal to come off the bench to get points for us when we have a drought (this is all assuming no "fireworks" this summer).

I loved Big Al when he was with us the first time around but he just hasn't developed into a player many thought he would. I'll still stand by the arugment that whatever team he has been healthy and played for has been a losing team. He's had four playoff years out of 12 and, until Charlotte, seems to have developed a losing mentality.

More importantly he doesn't fit our system. He is great in the post offensively, but he is a terrible defender at this point in his career, is slow and doesnt run the floor very well, and doesn't have much of a jumpshot or outside game. Always loved him but I'd say no to Big Al.

Why get a 30 year old Al Jefferson when you can get a 20 year old one for a little more?
