All of you are acting like AB is the second coming of Bird lol. Get over it, Atl was better then us with or without AB. We had no offense in any of the games and we were outplayed in most of them. Game 1 although we lost by a point, we were never really in it. Game 2 we were beat bad, game 3 we were kind of expected to win at home. Game 4 we needed ot. Games 5 and 6 weren't even close. We would of got be in 6 with AB and swept by the Cavs.

All this says about the Celtics is that we overachieved in the regular season and we were exposed in the playoffs. All Atl had to do was stop IT and most of the time he stopped himself. If AB was playing, another undersize guard, they would of focused on both of them. The rest of the team didn't show up. Heart yes, talent no.

We need Durant, although we won't get him, a trade for Butler with somehow keeping our lottery pick and then drafting Simmons or Buddy.

2016-2017 Lineup

IT
Butler
Durant
Crowder
Amir

Lottery pick come off the bench

I think this statement here is why we comment on the forums and do not advise on franchise altering trades.

Our Team is mediocre. We get that. But the Cavs isn't a naturally formed super team, LeBron basically got them all of their pieces, even by not playing for them (picks). You can't compare what we are trying to do here with what the Cavs ended up being due to LeBron chasing a lucrative narrative up in Cleveland.

my thoughts exactly, with or without Bradley, we would've been beaten in my honest opinion. At most, we probably would've stretched it to game 7. Even if we happened to beat ATL, we would've still get beaten by CLE. I think we got beat by a better team, and that better team got beat by an even better team.

In other words, that means that we are still technically very behind in really contending out in the East. I still say this current team is built for a 2nd round exit, had we had a better seed I think we could've played Charlotte whom in my opinion we should be able to beat. It gives us a good measuring stick on what we need to do to improve to match up with Cleveland, and what needs to improve.

I'll say this, Bradley's injury played a huge part, and Jae not being 100% also played a huge part. We let guys like Schroeder whom I am growing to hate beat us. I think with Bradley/Smart and IT we should be able to at least contain or slow down the likes of Teague and Schroeder. And with a 100% Jae, and Turner coming off the bench we would've looked better. don't know about still beating them though .
