Anyone know anything about Kris Dunn? Obviously I don't think he'll be coming to Boston with IT already in the fold but I'm just curious as to people's opinions on him. I've seen him anywhere from 4-7. I'm always skeptical when teams draft point guards top 5 unless they are the real deal, so seeing him in mocks at 4 has me curious to how good he might actually be.

I would guess that he's Philly bound if either A) Philly gets the Lakers pick or B) we pick 4-6, our Butler pursuit fails, and we trade the pick for either Noel or Okafor.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

Looks like Korkmaz would be a stash.

Edit. Whoops. Someone already posted. My bad
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
What are arguably the 3 most important ingredients in a Brad Stevens system?

1)Versatility- particularly defensively.

2)Passing- good vision and willingness to move the ball.

3)Shooting- although we aren't the best shooting team, we shoot A LOT, and Danny's plan is to acquire those shooters that can also or potentially also play solid defense and guard multiple positions.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Looking at these guys Kris Dunn is looking like the guy with 'franchise' potential at #4 or #5.

Dunn and Hield are Danny/Brad kinda kids.

That's why I think Bender is the pick at 3. High upside, fits the system well, and fills a need. I like Dunn and Murray a lot, but they're just so redundant to our roster makeup. Especially with Rozier, who needs PT, but will still struggle getting them next season. I think Murray fits our team better than Dunn because of his shooting, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Dunn being the greater player, but just not on our team.

yeah it just depends if they get a good look at him because we just don't have enough footage of to be truly convinced either way.

I wouldn't be disappointed if we drafted Dunn or Hield, but it would be a looooong few years working out which guards we are keeping.

They have Dejounte Murray   picked at #31 and Maker going #38.  We absolutely don't need another low impact combo guard.  You can find a player like that anywhere in the second round or even undrafted.  Maker is a risk sure but why wouldn't we take a chance on him and grab the mediocre combo guard with one of our other 4 second round picks.  There will always be combo guards available to pick but there is only one Maker.

I say if Maker makes it through the first round, pick him at #31.  Why not?  What have we got to lose?

This mock has us making the same picks but apparently team needs are included.

Bender, Valentine and Zizic isn't a terrible outcome imo.

No way in hell Danny passes on Korkmaz if he is still there at 16
i agree, unless some else has fallen down the draft rankings.

Word is he's staying in Europe though.
which is perfectly fine for Boston.

This comment just blows my mind.

We stand at the ready with a ton of draft picks, good picks for the next two years, plenty of cap space, good players on team friendly contracts, a couple of wins in the playoffs under our belt, and a coach that is quickly gaining respect to be mentioned in the top ten in the league.

What the hell more do you want?

*sheesh*
