Put it this way Kobe is Wilt and Duncan is Russell.  Both guys are absolutely remembered, both guys are out there, and both guys get their due respect.  A lot of it may depend upon what Kobe and Duncan do post-retirement, but I fully expect Duncan to stand the test of time like Russell has (in fact recently Russell has gotten far more mention than Wilt, of course Russell is still alive so that probably weighs heavily into it).
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

That's an interesting perspective. Being a historian, I really like it actually.

IMO in 50 years time only LAL fans will remember Kobe (assuming LAL still exists). A few moves apart he did not contribute much to the evolution of the game: he was an MJ copycat. Moreover, it is now clear he was last SG to play the game this way; these days SGs play very differently.

Wilt and Bill were legends, watching their games is the bball equivalent of watching Charlie Chaplin silents.

Bryant on the other hand... meh... in 50 years time, there were be so many more  GOAT candidates he will hardly be remembered.

Isn't this one of the reasons why they picked up LaMarcus Aldridge?
