Is there any reason we wont get a top 4 seed?

The Celtics will have max. efficiency if everyone buys into the style of basketball that is best suited for a team with this kind of solid, but unspectacular depth.

Take full advantage of the cards you were dealt. They need to play up tempo, taking advantage of their ability to substitute often, without a serious drop-off in skill level. Play an unselfish style of ball, using ball movement to find the best option, rather than hero ball.
This team has a chance to be a good defensive team, everyone must buy into defending aggressively, without worrying about personal expenditure of energy. IMO, use IT as a weapon off the bench to score and push the pace of the game, on a defense that may be tired.

If they're blessed with the luck of good heath...yeah, I can see top 4.

Cleveland, Atlanta, Washington, Chicago, and Miami are all unequivocally better even if everything goes Boston's way this season, and that being:

a.) No chemistry issues
b.) Improvement from young players like Kelly Olynyk and Jared Sullinger which we have not yet seen
c.) One or two key moves that shore up Boston's most glaring deficiencies with interior defense and/or efficient scorer(s) at the wings.

The East is still weak, but I think this team is capable of 45 wins, which I'd be thrilled with.  Even then, that's Raptors territory and likely not good enough for a top 4 seed.

The better question is whether there is any reason to thing we can repeat the quite improbable trip to the playoffs from last year.

Well we picked up some decent players to add to the young core, but none of them appear to be game changers / major impact players.  I hate to agree, but I think there is probably just as good a shot that we can't replicate the magic in a bottle from the end of last year.  At this point, not making the playoffs wouldn't surprise me any more than pulling in at a 6-7 seed.

Celtics went from a 7-seed to a 5-seed in a year-span. Could've won a few gimme games and became a 3-seed.

Definitely need a superstar.

Anyone who would look at this season as a disappointment is probably a glass half-empty person by nature.  The C's achieved a W-L tie for the 3rd best record in the East.  All I'm looking for in round 1 is a good series. Win or lose, the C's made progress this year and are in great position to make another leap next year.  A 4-0 loss to the Hawks would be disappointing but still wouldn't change my overall feeling that the season was a good one.
