If this was any other losing team certain people would complain that they are "tanking". Turns out, there are legitimate reasons to sit players, even if it costs a bad team wins -- completely independent of trying to get a better draft pick.

Hardly anyone ever complained about teams sitting players at the end of the season, just like few were ever bothered by teams blowing it up at the trade deadline.  There were grumbles but those were largely seen as normal moves for bad teams to make.

What has made "tanking" a big deal is one team going out of its way to be as bad as they possibly could for multiple seasons in a row.

Nets made a big mistake keeping Lopez. Young ok, he is still young and you keep him

Lopez , Jack should of been traded for some picks.
Nets will get more value for Lopez trading him this summer if he can't help them draw free agents first.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Yeah.  The Nets don't even have a reason to tank.

Personally I do think it's crappy to fans but so has just about everything the Nets have done  for the last few seasons.

I don't know.

Maybe they are tanking for that third pick in the 2nd round.    ;)

Sadly for them the Clippers get to swap that pick if their own pick is 55 or better, and the Clippers are sitting right at 55.
