I like that teams can take strategic advantage of the fact that they have a foul to give, or that a player on the other team is tragically bad at free throws.

I once saw the San Antonio Spurs turn a 13 point lead into a 1 point deficit by going after Dwight Howard. In one play Tony Parker would have won a charge call from Jeremy Lin trying to take it to the hole, only for some random guy to hack Howard and send him to the FT line
