Hayes highhlights

Zipser highlights

Both guys are like Jerebko. Versatile defenders that can give you 8-10 pts a game.  But have a higher ceiling on the offensive end.

highlights don't tell the whole story but bottom line is, both of these guys are versatile defenders, mature team players,  with good potential on the offensive end.   Just lack the top level handles, high end offensive skills to take over (otherwise we would be talking about top 10 picks)

Which prospect tickles your interest more?

Man, Ainge has so much scouting to do this year it's insane. That said I'm not high in this two specific players

of course you can't. These are considered late 1st picks.  Maybe mid 20's

I have been a big Hayes fan for a while. I think he will be NBA ready as a rookie and fit nicely as a backup 4/3.

Yeah. His footspeed is good to cover 3's and out to the perimeter

On the offensive he would cause pfs issues. But against quicker and decently strong sfs he may not produce much on the offensive end.   At least can spread the floor

A better shooting version of Bass imo. Nice backup

This zipser prospect looks like a beast and is explosive. But can't create 1 on 1 , especially if you had a Hayes guarding him up close

Both hayes and zipser prospect don't really have a true position. I guess perfect for ainge =p

just curious, where did you see this ranking for them? at draftexpress they are very early 2nd rounders.

I've seen Wisconsin play a few times and didn't come away impressed with Hayes.  Maybe a 3 and D guy.  Would rather see the pick used on a big who might develop.

Hayes's stats from last year look awesome, but this year his efficiency has tanked. He's basically taking 4 more shots per game and making none of them, while also adding an extra turnover. Also, his steal + block numbers looked great his freshman year, but they regressed last year and haven't recovered. Without watching much Wisco I'm guessing that what happened is that he's been asked to take on a bigger responsibility to create offense and just hasn't thrived in that role. That's fine for a prospect in the late 1st, and Hayes could be a great versatile role player in the NBA.

if you depend on Hayes you are asking for little.    It's like asking Bass or Jerebko to carry a team

Wisconsin is not a strong team this season.

Now Hayes as a supporter type is another story.   That is why he is pegged to go late 1st, early 2nd
