I'm pretty punchy here from reading all the trade "rumors", tweets, etc in anticipation of Thursday. Given that, things are getting a little hazy in terms of what might be realistic and what might not. Given that built-in excuse:

The Kings want to make the playoffs this year.

Word is that the Kings, who are desperate to end a playoff drought spanning nine seasons and counting before moving into a new building next season, prefer immediate help in trade talks more than future picks.

If that's the case, would they go for a trade where they get AB and we get Stein and McLemore as a framework for a trade and picks be used to make whoever needs to be made happy, happy.?

That's a win now for them, and two nice potential starters/6th men for us.

It's a pretty simple trade that does work $$$-wise.

Would they do it?

If so, should we do it? As many on here have often stated, I strongly hesitate to break up our core players, given the current chemistry, but given the age of these guys, I'm tempted.

Do picks need to be included, and by whom?

I honestly think it should happen, but don't think it will. Sac loves to hold on to their centers past the logical time to move them.

In order to get the deal done, we would probably have to include Zeller so they maintain a little big man depth. I love the idea for us though. I would also include the minny and another 2nd.

A minor change I think would possibly get it done: add sully to the deal. No picks. Kings get sully and his restricted free agent self, AB on a great deal to fill the exact role mclemore was doing. That starting 5 could easily make the playoffs in te west this year. Rondo/AB/Gay/sully/cousins. They would technically get better spacing because of the upgrade to sully from WCS (although still not great) and only sacrifice a little shooting to get a major defensive upgrade to sully.

Why the Cs do it: I love AB, but if I can get WCS and a project like mclemore while freeing up more minutes for smart, we gotta do it. Also I don't wanna pay sully 12-15 million to be out of shape the next 4 years. He has talent, but that's the kind of deal he's gonna get offered in the new climate, and we shouldn't let him walk for nothing.

Sorry that I didn't see this before posting AB trade ideas. One is  basically the same deal. So I totally agree on Kings trying to get AB but I think they also need KO.

TP....thanks for responding. I started this thread last night and no one responded....I thought it was a topic worthy of discussion since it would be beneficial to both teams, I thought.

In another thread on moving AB, I responded to a McLemore/Stein for AB proposal and suggested we include Zeller for the same reasons you proffered.

Also, were you including Zeller and a Sully plus AB or just one of them?

Oh haha that was a little confusing my bad. It would be your deal plus zeller and some seconds, OR the AB/sully deal.. basically as long as I don't have to include Olly. I think a future KO/WCS Front court could work very very well together given ollys spacing, bball iq, and most definitely passing. Coupled with WCS insane athleticism and defensive abilities and finishing they could be an awesome duo.
