Unless all picks are used to trade for a big name or simmons for example , If Danny has multiple 2016 picks to work with, one guy that I hope he snatches is Denzel Valentine.  Perfect fit under CBS and can takeover what Evan Turner is doing for the team if not brought back.    Strong on both ends but especially his handles and passing capabilities are top notch.  Marcus Smart level rebounder for a SG/PG.

highlights - 29 pts, 12 reb, 12 ast

Turner is an elite ballhandler for his size, odd comparison here. But I do agree with drafting Michigan State. That program breeds overachievers.

did you not see the clip. Valentine is just as good as Turner at ball handling. The difference is Valentine has the explosiveness that Turner lacks

I don't see explosiveness when I watch Valentine, I think that's the one knock on him from draft experts, much like it was with D.Green.  What Valentine has that Turner lacks is 3 point range.  I like him as a mid first round pick.

Here's the Draft Express summary on him:

"While Valentine does not possess prototypical NBA athleticism or a great frame, his productivity, skill-level and basketball IQ make him very appealing as a pro prospect. We didn't get a great chance to evaluate his defense, as Kansas' anemic backcourt made him easy to hide and save for the offensive end, and he did struggle somewhat finishing around the basket due to his lack of explosiveness, despite his elite shooting touch. Nevertheless, Valentine's ability to play a variety of different roles, along with his fearless style of play, make it increasingly difficult to count him out as a first round prospect."

Count him out as a first round prospect?

What a joke. He is lotto material

And while he may not be like Zach lavine explosive he is definitely quicker to the basket than Evan Turner. Not even close

Valentine is a very good fit

He can do a little of everything. But he's undersized for power forward and too slow for small forward.

But he has enough game to take a chance on him. I would take him with a pick in the mid 20s.

He is projected to go #30 on nbadraft.net and #19 on draftexpress.com.

P.S.  I agree that we should try to draft him!!!  He is a basketball player that can basically do it all!!!!

triboy 16f...I give you credit because you noticed Jordan Mickey before anyone else and have been his most ardent proponent...so yeah.

I'm not sure about Denzel yet...need to see more...but I'm intrigued.

it said  difficult to count him out as a first round prospect.   they seem to be agreeing with you that this kid is probably a 1st rounder.  the question is how high up in the first round apparently.  I think lotto may be stretching it.

Definitely take him with the C's or Dallas pick. Kevin O'Connor just wrote an awesome article about him. I'm all in.

I'm hoping for Bender or Poeltl depending where the Nets pick lands, Valentine would be a terrific pick up with our later picks.
