How much should we value the Brooklyn picks?

Our picks and the other picks are going to only hold so much value to other teams.  Ainge snuck in there and grabbed a guy like Isaiah Thomas for a later pick so teams do this though. But the real value is in the Brooklyn picks.  There are probably 2 superstar potential players at the top of this draft.  The rest are potential all star players with some upside to maybe find another superstar in there.  Bender has that kind of upside. Kris Dunn.  Hield has some all star potential.  Brown has Jason Richardson upside I feel or a player like that. Players you can build around but they are going to take some time.  Whether these players fit us is something else as well.

On the other side of the fence Ainge is inquiring on players like Gallinari, Horford, and Howard.  All proven Allstar capable players who are in their primes, but aren't exactly Allstar or  All World players.

In a perfect world we could make trades and still select with those Brooklyn picks but Ainge might be forced to get creative if he wants to make trades without giving up much of our current core and later picks. I feel like Lee and later picks was offered for Gallo. Sully and a pick for Horford was probably bandied about.  But Ainge might have to do better than that to make any deal happen.

I feel like the 2016 Brooklyn pick shouldn't be on the table unless it's a top player like Blake Griffin. The future Brooklyn picks I would wait and see what Brooklyn does this offseason with their cap space.

If Ainge wants to make trades and gamble then he might have to up the anti with some of our current core then and later picks, and then we can still select with those picks. I agree in ways that those picks shouldn't be on the table unless it's for Cousins or Blake etc. The issue I have is I like our current core.  We are playing really well right now.  It's a good time to make a trade in that regard, where we can maybe get a guy like Gallinari or Horford, but we have to be careful what we are giving up in ways.  If it comes down to Crowder or Sully or Bradley etc who do you trade? Crowder to me is the obvious hold but it's not that clear cut.

I feel like it's going to be really difficult for Ainge to make trades as it stands is why I say this.  I think Crowder is a hold for sure as well.  But so what are we trading?  David Lee, Sully maybe and later picks? Maybe Bradley?  It's a good time to make a trade imo but I'm not sure we are going to be able to.

We won't trade the Brooklyn picks for anything but a superstar.  This is kind of the groundwork we've set up. Crowder is a hold.  I also think Isaiah, smart and KO are definately off the table. 

So we have later picks, Lee, possibly Sully or Bradley to get Horford or a guy like Gallinnari.

We have the Brooklyn picks to either draft or trade for a guy like Cousins or Blake.

Turner and Amir are also trade candidates.

I think '16 should be off the table until we know what draft slot it is.  Now, obviously, that could end up costing the Celtics value in the pick since it could be something like the 4th or 5th pick.  However, it could also land #1 or #2 and create even more value than it has right now with the unknown. 

I'd be more keen to moving the other BKN picks in the right sort of package although I'm not moving any of those BKN picks for a half season rental even if it is an upper echelon star.

As it stands I feel like the Celtics are going to hope 3rd teams get involved that really want the players and picks we are offering.  It's probably why they are advertising it.  We aren't offering enough in any of these trades. WE can hold Denver by the balls if the are going to lose Gallo for nothing. Same with Horford but yeah.

I get the object is to improve our team but Ainge to me is becoming somewhat a ruthless negotiator where he might have to  get a bit creative.
