I had a dream that we got Blake Griffin in a Celtics uniform. The dream didn't fill in the details. So i tried to.

I know this isn't realistic, but it was still fun.

Boston gets their star iso player who continues to add range to his jumpshot. He needs to play tougher defense. We release Stephenson immediately.

Clippers gets rid of Stephenson. They also get 75% of Griffins production (on a really good contract), but Morris stretches the floor. They get Warren who looks like a legit scoring 3 man, a 3 and D tough-nosed James Posey type of player in PJ Tucker. And of course, they get Marcus Smart to learn under Paul and eventually take over as the lead guard.

Suns get rid of Morris for more than nothing. They get Sullinger who can give them a lot of what Morris brought to the table. They also get a veteran presence in Lee and a Young (see what i did there) prospect with good scoring upside, especially playing off of Knight and Bledsoe.

Edit: This one makes more sense. I don't think the Suns give up Tucker, Morris, and Warren for Sullinger, Young, and Lee.

Of course, we have a ton of picks grease the wheels of this deal.

Edit 2: Yes, I still know this deal won't happen. But do you think that the Clippers feel the pressure mounting a little bit? Paul is not getting any younger, and Jordan and Griffin don't fit well together. They have no young assets. In three years, where will they be?

It's not like Rivers to deal anyone from the core of his team (he reportedly turned down a Rondo for Westbrook deal in Boston), but isn't he feeling pressure? They are good, but can they beat the Spurs or the Warriors with their team?

Doesn't it make sense to get deeper and double down on spreading the court. If they could get 80% of Griffin's production with better court spacing and two really good, young NBA players, wouldn't they consider it?

Come on, Doc. Take the deal. 3, 2, 1 .... 2, 3. Take the deal!

The only way Griffin could ever end up in a C's uniform would be if we got the number one pick from NJ and we essentially trade for him.  Even then, we still might have to sweeten it because Griffin is a known commodity and Simmons isn't one yet.

Rivers will never trade an established player for players he has to coach up. There is a reason he left the Celtics for Clipper pastures (See what I did there)

But on another note he is the mvp of his team, just tore his quad muscle so chance or clipper pick improves

That was last year and Hunter was selected with it.

I'm starting to wonder about this dream ...

"If you want to poach Griffin, now or in the offseason, you're probably going to have to come with an offer that -- at least in Rivers' view -- maintains the Clippers' spot in the league's hierarchy. The Boston Celtics could build an offer that appears to help the Clippers in both the short- and long-term: Avery Bradley, Jae Crowder, one big man and two first-round picks -- including one of Brooklyn's unprotected picks."

I don't want to gut a top 4 playoff team in the East to get Griffin. I mean, Ainge is a genius, but it would take at least a year or two to get this team into contention again. However, what about ...

Clippers receive: Bradley, Morris, Tucker, rights to sway Brooklyn 2017 pick, 2018 Brooklyn pick, 2016 Dallas Pick, 2016 and 2017 Minny 2nd rounders
Suns receive: Lee's expiring, Sullinger, 2016 Celtics pick, 2017 Memphis pick,
Celtics receive: Griffin

Leaving:

Johnson/Olynyk/Zeller
Griffin/Jerebko/Mickey
Crowder/Young
Smart/Hunter
Thomas/Turner/Rozier
