   Knew Brad was going to do this. Here is the 1st Quarter scoring for the C's in K.O.s 7 starts.
            C's    Opp.
   Min.   34      26
@Cha.   29      21
@Bkn.   37      22
   Det.   33      24
@Chi.    27      21
@Mem.  34     18
@N.Y.    27     36

  K.O. is a + 39 in the 1st qtr. in those 7 starts.  The C's are 6-1 in the 1st qtr. in those games.

I love Brad's reasoning why, being 1-4 in last five games to be specific. Kelly reminds me of Jeff Green, consistently inconsistent. Kelly shows us these flashes during the span on one game, then reverts to some timid shooter pump faking his way out of 1-2 threes a night, and passing away the rest. For a week I was a prisoner of the moment and thought moving Sully before the deadline and rolling with Kelly in the future was a good idea, yet as more time passes our PF spot appears as weak as our C spot.
Long-form is far from dead, but please refrain from paragraph-laden posts! Who wants to read that?!

KO is the bizarro Jeff Green. The main difference between them is that even when KO's not on his game, he usually impacts the Celtics in a positive way. With Jeff it was the opposite.

Brad's in a kind of danged-if-he-does, danged-if-he-doesn't situation.

When KO and IT are in the starting lineup, the bench really can't score.

Move one or both of them to the bench, however, and now the starting lineup really can't score.

There are just too many decent role players and not enough players who actually help the team score.

  The C's have outscored those 7 opponents 221-168 in those 7 1st quarters.  Per 48 that is C's 126 pts - Opponents 96 pts.  The starting line up is not the problem.  The rotations and pairings afterwards certainly are a problem though.

The problem isn't with Kelly in the starting lineup, it is that he takes him out and sits him too long at a time.  The big guys need shorter more frequent breaks instead of 30 minutes or more at a time.

Lots of good opinions here but I think you hit on something very important.
Kelly needs to push his game to alter (notice not dominate) team play.
He is not Larry bird but he does alter a game in many different ways.  Kelly needs to become an attack and react player like Isaiah does.  He has range, nice inside or driving moves and a GREAT interior passer.  He needs to go for his game first and if he can't get to rim etc look to pass.  Too much talent to be used sparingly

  Look at the numbers posted again the starting line up has been utterly dominant in those 7 starts.  Even last night when Porzingis and Melo were on fire the C's were only outscored by 2 points when K.O. was on the floor in the 1st quarter and he was only -1 in the 1st half.

The Celtics need better rebounding with the starting squad and better scoring off the bench. Switching Sully and Olynyk is probably the right move for the team as a whole. Olynyk fans shouldn't take this as a slight to their boy.

And they've won how many of those games?

Short of a trade, the only way to improve the bench is to take someone out of the starting lineup.  We've done well with KO on the bench, Brad's trying to see if this will solve it
