The D-league and our Rookies

So I got to say, I tend to get jealous when I see other rookies doing well for other teams, especially non- lottery rookies. I feel our rookies (not all of them) could have done well in the NBA and get some valuable experience.
Did DA make a mistake with this a roaster that is too deep for rookies to earn play time?
I don’t know if our rookies don’t play because the roaster is too deep or maybe the Celtics just believe that the D-league is the best place for rookies.
I would like to see a combination of our rookies play real rotation minutes and not just meaningless garbage time.   
Anyway… I’m just venting a little…

Good debate...
I like all three rooks…but I’m cool if they spend the year at D-League.

Let them get their feet wet as professionals and develop their games in the D-League. That will help their confidence.

At this point I think drafting Rozier was very clearly a mistake. I know the cliche is that you should never draft for fit, but that only applies when you're looking at players with star potential. Rozier and those who were drafted around him are all most likely topping out at "good role player" anyway, so why not draft the role player who can contribute immediately and get NBA minutes for development as opposed to the role player who will rot in the D-League for a year? Especially given that we have a glaring weakness on the wing and there were players who could play that position available. It's really not ideal that our 1st-round pick can't even get himself Phil Pressey minutes.

RJ Hunter has gotten his chances but has consistently been pretty bad. He shows flashes but for now he seems to have played his way out of the rotation. Who knows what we've got with Mickey. Marcus Thornton as never expected to amount to anything and looks to be on his way to meeting those expectations.

All in all it's massively disappointing that none of our picks have broken into the rotation or have any value whatsoever as an asset at this point in the year. I know none of them were high-level prospects, but we should still be getting better than zero value out of four picks in a fairly deep draft.

I love Danny and I think he's a great GM. Rookies we have look fine. But I will forever be scratching my head as to why the hell he took Rozier over Portis. We need someone like him so badly.

Terry Rozier is the only one of Celtics rookies that I think can benefit from the D-League. As an undersized combo guard, I think the experience Rozier can get there will help him grow his PG skills and allow him to come back to the Celtics a superior player.

I thought James Young out-grew the D-League last season. He had a lot of success there and needed to step up a level to work on his weaknesses. RJ Hunter and Jordan Mickey are too advanced for the D-League. Nothing to learn playing against sub-par (athletically or skill-wise) competition. These 3 guys need to be in the NBA.

We need to make room for the Rooks.
if we cant trade some of our mediocre role players, DA and BS need to decide who is not part of this team's future and start playing those who are part of the future.
