Will the Nets draft pick this June be a top 3, or only a top 8?

Should we pick up Amir and Jonas's options by July 3rd or free up 17 million in cap space?

Should Mickey and the other kids get some run in the second half or still too soon?



These are all great questions/problems to have.  Wyc, Danny, Brad, the players and all of us fans are doing just fine.  Player development is happening at all levels, more players are coming.  Patience, patience ...this is going to work out well.

I'm 80% sure that Amir's option won't be picked up.

I see them both as trade filler in the offseason along with draft picks.

Of course, that's the goal.

I was being generous, fact is that their option is very early at the start of free-agency and I don't envision Ainge tying up his money so soon on it.

IF we can't manage a trade by then, then I just see very little chance of them staying here... less than I actually mention actually, but whatever. A one-year deal is not a deal breaker.

The only way I see Amir's option not being picked up is if Ainge gets word early in free agency that a max level player has interest in going there.

I predict he ends up staying because I don't think we will do better than him in free agency.

I'm moving forward with the assumption that the Nets pick will be in the 5-8 range. That way I am unlikely to be disappointed.

Mickey will get some run if the C's shed some of their bigs in a trade. If no trades are made and there isn't a rash of injuries I think we won't see him until next year.

All I asked from Brad Stevens when he was hired, was that the team improve every year under him. I expect a better record through 34 games next year than we have had this year.

I think Jerebko stays unless Ainge finds use for the cap space.

I think Amir goes and is replaced by someone more useful.

I'll be disappointed if Amir and Jerebko are still around next year.

The team either needs to find ways to upgrade in the frontcourt, or it needs to cut ties with some of these veteran players and open up time for the younger guys to develop.

Either way, Jerebko and Amir should be superfluous next season.

Unless we consolidate some draft picks or push them into the future, we are going to need some roster space.  That makes me doubt the return of at least two if not three of, Sully, Lee, Amir and JJ.

My guess is that the season ends with 76ers, Lakers, Suns, Nets and nuggets as the bottom 5 teams. I am not setting myself up for to much disappointment and there for I expect the Cs pick to be #3-#6. I am hoping for Bender or Poetlt at this point.

I expect major changes in the front court with Amir having a team option, Sully and Zeller being restricted FA, and Lee being off the books. My guess is Amir's option is not picked up but I wouldn't be surprised to see him (if not traded) brought back on a longer cheaper deal. As for Jonas I see him as a perfect system fit who will be brought back if roster space allows it.

If trades or injuries open up minutes then I would love to see court time for Rozier and Mickey. I personally think the injuries too AB and Hunter should be giving Rozier a few minutes and not just Young. If things continue as they have so fare I have no issue with the young guys jumping back and forth to maine as they have been and not seeing NBA minutes.
