Lee especially. Amir can't spread the floor and teams daring Sullinger to shoot those awful 3 pt attempts.

This team functioned better with Zeller, sully, KO, jerebko , bass last season imo

Please trade Lee, amir and one of Sullinger or Zeller already. Stop playing let's play 6 pf/c in one game game.  CBS should also be a little more strict and bench some guys if its necesarry. Tonight I was dizzy seeing Zeller, Lee , KO , sully etc. Stick with 4 like most teams do

I'm ready to move on from both veteran big men. Celts are better playing small and it's time to give more minutes to the younger guys. Maybe give Mickey or Young an extended run off the bench for a few games.

Amir has slowed down considerably and Lee can't really finish or shoot enough to make up for his crappy defense.

Bass was a better and more consistent contributor than Amir. Danny gambled on that one and lost. Amir's decline in Toronto was real. They were ready to move on from him for good reason.

Both are basically fat expiring contracts we hope to will be salary filler in large deadline deals.  I wouldn't worry about it.   I kind of expect Lee to be bought out after the trade deadline if we don't pull off a big trade.   Amir might stick around until the end of the season, but I'd be shocked if he was making 12 mil again on this team next year.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Amir is a good energy bench big who can give you big minutes on occasion. We don't really have an starting quality big men (on a top level playoff team) so he and Sully are the defacto starters.

Lee can probably go and latch on to a team with injuries up front. He isn't a horrible player, but he isn't fitting in with this team as well as hoped.

You don't pay 12 million a year for a bench big.  If we just wanted a nice defensive bench big, we could have signed biyombo for $3 mil a year.

Amir got that unguaranteed contract so he'd be desirable in trades.  If we don't find a trade for him, I can't imagine we would keep paying him this money next year just to be a decent role player.

Oh, totally - not a great signing, but the contract amount is higher than it should be due to the unguaranteed 2nd year. I still kind of like him, however.

And I would have loved Biyombo and agreed with you since day 1 on his signing. Watching him pull down 20 rebounds last week was a bit annoying, knowing he would have come dirt cheap.

Doc Rivers called. He wants to know why he couldn't get any posts like this when he was here.

Totally agree! Except for Sully. At least he hits the occasional three. Amir Johnson has no business at the three point line. I really miss Brandon bass and it sucks to see guys like Zeller, Jerebko, and Sully losing minutes to Lee and Johnson.

I think Amir is alright, he's just injured right now. Zeller is ok if the matchup is there where he can use his quickness. I could've sworn he had one of his best games of the season last yr. against Lopez.

Lee sucks, no 2 ways about it. he can't finish at all. Sully and KO are who they are - inconsistent but pretty much better than the other bigs on the team. and jerebko i'd like to think if he got consistent mins. he'd be more consistent with hitting shots but I don't think so, everything else he does I like though.

I do think a lot of the problem with our bigs inconsistency has a lot to do more with us forgetting they're on the team and tend to forget to involve them in the offense. I mentioned in another thread when our shots aren't falling our D is non-existent, we lose all initiative to play D. but it also effects our willingness to involve the bigs in the offense as well.

we correct this problem and I think it solves a lot of problems. I think one way to do this is to not run plays for IT and AB early on, because if they don't hit on these plays early on it dictates the way we play the rest of the game.
