A PRIME KG!

Looking at the game thread I started thinking....what if a prime KG was on this team....the defense...the intensity....and he is a go-to-scoring BIG.....what danny wants.

The defense with crowder, bradley and KG!?!? would there be anybody they couldn't stop?!

I got all giddy just thinking bout it....then the bell rang and it went away....reality set in....there are no KG's in this league right now..... but just makes me appreciate his time here even more!

Anthony Davis. Not exactly like KG but close enough. Of course he is untouchable no matter how many picks we throw in to sweeten the deal for New Orleans.

Yeah. He's untouchable for now but does anyone really expect he'll stay there long term? He's going to a bigger market at some point. Hopefully here. 😄😄

Prime Paul Pierce would be a better fit.  A second ball handler who can hit threes and is a go-to scorer.

I think KG was a significantly better player than Anthony Davis to be honest, and that's saying something!

KG basically could do everything AD does, but he was a far superior passer / playmaker, and he had that emotional intensity / toughness that AD seems to lack.

He's probably the closest comparison right now though.

Might not be the type of players that would power shift the league but I'd be all for getting Serge Ibaka or Derrick Favors in here.

Always had a fascination with what an athletic defensive 4 could do for our lineup. Looking at you Mickey.

I think it would be nice if we could add prime Magic Johnson and Hakeem Olajuwon, personally.  I think they'd be a great fit in this pace and space system.

Plus Magic would cover for Bradley's lack of size in the backcourt, and vintage Hakeem is mobile enough to defend the P&R and can stretch the floor with his mid-range jumper - maybe even hit the odd three.

If they aren't available, we could also hit up Orlando and try and bring Penny and Shaq here - would be a great fit.  Not sure if I'd offer them the Brooklyn pick though because don't want to risk the 25% chance of us landing Simmons (sarcasm) but I'm thinking we could offer them Smart, Sully and the Dallas pick.  That should be more then enough for Penny and Shaq. Maybe get them to throw in Horace Grant too as filler.

To be very realistic, the C's may trade for Joakim Noah. I really am not a fan, but he would fit into Brad's system pretty well: A defensive minded center who is a very good passer.

I get the concept, but I really don't think he would help this team at all - I think he'd make us much, much worse.

Noah's defense has dropped off significantly in recent years - still a solid defender and rebounder, but nowhere near the best he once was on that end.  His ability as a passer is largely irrelevant given that pretty much every big we have right now is already a good passer.

So what it basically comes down to is...does Noah improve us enough defensively to make up for the horrible offensive game he's been showing lately?

I would say...questionable.

I'd also be concerned about his impact on the locker room, since he seems like a complete and utter [word for a specific part of a men's anatomy] of an individual.

Right now I very seriously question whether Noah is actually any better than a 38 year old Kevin Garnett - and I'm not even joking.  To say he is a shadow of his former self is an understatement of epic proportions.

I pretty much agree. As I said, I'm not a fan. If his defense has dropped off there is no point

Do you think he improves the Celtics if he comes off the bench and takes maybe 20mpg that have been going to Lee and Zeller?
