The 20 pt & 6 ast club:

Curry
Harden
James
Westbrook
Lillard
Lowry
Bledsoe
Thomas

Only Lillard is making less, until next year when the Dame will get over $20,000,000.  Isaiah's salary actually goes down over the next two years ($6.9m to $6.5m to $6.2m).

What an asset!

Great trade chip!

He makes a great 6th man, really helps with scoring off the bench.

He's not going anywhere.

for now, no one is safe on the Celtics and be traded at anytime if the right players comes by. However, I don't see that happening anytime soon, so for the time being, he'ls here to stay

When was it any different? That doesn't make him a "trade chip". He's a core player right now, together with Bradley and Crowder. There are at least half a dozen of rotation players on our roster that are more likely to be dangled around if a good player becomes available.

I hear what you're saying but I just don't see it happening.

Yes, any all star level 20/6 guard would be really great off the bench, but that doesn't mean that's how they should be used..

Kozlodoev is right. This team would fall apart if Thomas was traded, and hopefully Ainge knows that too.

What if he is part of a package for Mike Conley.  Would the team fall apart then?
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

It wouldn't fall apart but Conley really isn't that great. What's the point in a deal like that anyway? He's an expiring and will probably demand somewhere in the 14-16 mill range in the off-season. I take that back. The Celtics probably would fall apart from a deal like that.

Conley is not a better player than Thomas.

Yeah. Conley can't score the basketball like Thomas, and I don't think that Conley is better than him overall.
We have lacked a player who can score the basketball on his own for such a long time. It would be silly to trade Thomas away unless we get someone back, who is capable of scoring the ball like him.
