we all know that wizards are struggling right now, but the impact and veteran presence pierce made on that team was very helpful that lead them in sweeping the raptors to 4-0 last playoffs

wizards added dudley, but pierce is still one of the best in terms on basketball IQ, although dudley is a better 3point shooter, pierce is everything you could ask for, help defense etcs;

now they added gary neal and alan anderson, drafted kelly oubre...
if pierce had stayed for 1 more year....
releasing webster...adding another descent big
maybe trading blair and maybe adding another help combo guard

do you see this team one of the best in the east...and maybe a nightmare to lebron and cavs fan? or do you still see a team like bulls battling it out to beat the cavs come playoffs
although clippers is also struggling, maybe because pierce is being killed at SF spot?

Not a chance. I love Pierce, I love his veteran presence as a player/coach and locker room presence, and I'm sure he'll still have some clutch games and shots in the playoffs... But with the way he has played this year he wouldn't be capable of moving the needle for washingtons bad start much. They have bigger problems. Nene is terrible, their depth is pretty poor, Wall isn't shooting all that great and Beal hasn't made the leap that he was expected to.

No.

Their bigs (Gortat and Nene) have declined far too much.  They need a player who can produce somewhere other than in their backcourt, so far they have no such player.

Even with arguably the best backcourt in the NBA (depending on whether you consider Klay Thompson a SG or SF), there is still only so far that can take you.
