And this is where guys like Lee, Sully, KO, Jerebko go to work and provide solid passes to open shooters around the perimeter/or make an extra pass down low.   This is one of key components of the Spurs and GSW offensive system.   But it can't be done unless the player receiving the ball down low has some decent to above average passing skills.

I wonder because of this recent "tweak" that Zeller has not been playing much (on top of the other issues he has been having).  He is probably the worse passing big man we have on the team

True. That might be why Zeller isn't getting time.

And congrats on 11k posts and a new star.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

Thank you sir.

Yes I agree.  Zeller looks to be the odd man out.  Sullinger and Jerebko have already surpassed him the depth chart.

Eh, Zeller's a pretty good passer in my recollection.  He certainly doesn't thrive with his back to the basket, that much is true.  Actually, I think Stevens initially went with the Lee / Zeller pairing in the starting lineup precisely because of their passing ability out of the high post, in order to offset keeping Turner and Thomas with the bench unit.

I think with Zeller if anything it's just a numbers crunch.  He really needs to be in lineups with plenty of spacing.  He can't succeed if he's playing alongside big men who don't space the floor well.   And really I'd say that Amir, Lee, and Zeller all fit into that category.  Those guys are rim runners who are best getting their minutes at the 5.  Stevens can't really play all three of them for that reason.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

I agree. And Zeller + Sully or Zeller + KO have not really worked out.

The big man passing, particularly by the bench unit of Olynyk, Jerebko, and Lee, has been fantastic the last couple of games.  It's been really fun to watch.
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

This is something I noticed too. The action in the low post is key for the offensive system the C's are trying to run. I think the part you are missing is not only does our bigs need to have above average passing skills but they also have to be some threat in the low post. Two players in particular that excel are both are Sully and Lee.

If you look at what the C's were doing when they were winning, it look something like this

1) Having pace and being successful in the fast break
2) Looking into the low-post for bigs to score
3) Attacking the rim via pentration
4) All of this leads to better looking 3 point looks.

When the C's focus on shooting more 3s and unsuccessfully having pace and fast breaks usually leads to losses.
