I am glad the Celtics lost this game to the Raptors.  This gives Stevens more material to help these guys improve.  I am no prophet and don't want to predict the season based on a few games:  but one thing is certain, the Celtics are still in the team building phase and guys work harder to improve after a loss (as long as there is reasonable hope of getting better and winning more).
If Smart and one or two more starters had lucky shooting nights (I mean like all their shots fell sort of like Smart's out of bounds 3 pointer) maybe the Celtics would have won.  But then they wouldn't listen as much to getting more ball movement, taking care of the ball, getting better shots and playing better in general.
The players admitted frustration after the game, and that they played like a young team (duh).  It takes some adversity to build up character.  Think of Cleveland last year with all the stars:  they didn't get things together instantly.  How much more unrealistic is it to think that rookies and young players who are still learning the game are instantly going to be a super team.
The Celtics deserved to lose to Toronto and will lose a lot more games on off shooting nights.

To me it seems that guards take the longest to learn the game:  the Celtics traded away Paul Westphal, Chauncey Billups,  and Joe Johnson because they were not willing to wait for them to develop.  Not everyone is a JoJo White who played great from day one.

They've got to be able to score on nights when the 3 isn't falling and I think they will do that.  The thing about playing good teams is they expose your weaknesses.  And that's exactly what Toronto did.  Get ready for more of the same Sunday vs SA.

KO and Zeller are not stopping anybody in the paint . I don't mind them missing shots .....it's the LACK of defensive effort .....which falls on the shoulders of the coach .....like ....what is he doing ?

Everybody has nights off shooting .......but you never saw KG take a night off defensively .

Don't the Celtics coach demand they put a body on their men?

Zeller isn't playing squat for defense against men his own size.   He sucks . ....is he injuried or just been around Kelly too long and scard to play tuff?

Missing shots doesn't bother me so,bad ......long as those two are working hard on protecting the paint .    Both are playing lazy and soft.

At least Mickey isn't chicken to stand in their and play defense.
