http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=phythgxRockets out: Lawson, Dekker, Capela In: IT, Smart, Sully
Jazz out: Exum, Burks, Booker In: Lawson, KO, Turner
Celts out: IT, Smart, Turner, Sully, KO In: Capela, Exum, Burks, Dekker, Booker
Celtics roster:
Rozier, Burks
AB, Hunter (Exum next year), Young
Crowder, Dekker, JJ
Amir, Lee, JJ, Booker, Mickey
Capela, Zeller, Amir, Booker
This trade is a gamble for all three teams. As a huge Marcus Smart fan I wouldn't do it, but I'm curious if others would. From the Celtics perspective it would require a few strong beliefs:
1. Rozier can be the future starting PG and leader of the team
2. Capela has big time potential, at least on defense (most important element in the deal)
3. Exum and Dekker will at least be decent
4. You are happy with Bradely as the starting SG for the foreseeable future.
5. You would have to be somewhat down on Sully/KO and not a huge IT fan
As I said it's a no go for me. I'd prefer to get the next SF in the draft and add our needed rim protector some other way. Just wondering about people's enthusiasm or lack thereof for Capela, Exum, Dekker
For the Rockets Smart plus IT is greater than Lawson imo, definitely for the future and even for this year. Dekker will be pretty useless this year with Ariza and Brewer and Harden's ability to play the 3.
They could do:
Beverly, Smart, Harden, Ariza or
IT, Smart, Harden, Ariza
in small ball lineups...
Utah absolutely improves this year. If they need a second rounder or late first so be it...
Weird Hollinger analysis on this one. Celts and Jazz plus 33 wins, Rockets plus 18 wins.
