ESPN writers/contributors are picking who they think will win each award this year. The choice for Coach of the Year is Brad Stevens.

One question I have with coach of the year voting is this: How does roster makeup effect the votes? For example, the spurs and Pop. They have a good team and a great roster. Is 65-17, with a good roster considered better than 53-29 team with a starless roster?

Typically, a team that exceeds expectations will win, so it's easier for coaches of expected low- or mid-tier teams to win it than really good teams (like the spurs)
I'm bitter.

If we crack 50 wins I think he'll get it, unless something crazier happens like, say, Portland makes the playoffs.  Problem is I think that it's very unlikely we'll crack 50 barring a major trade.  But it's again great to hear how highly regarded our organization is.  That's the real takeaway for me.

Amir Johnson picked up a vote for Most Improved player.

Also, the Raptors got 15 votes to win the Atlantic, the Celts 10. No love for the Nets???

They've never given back to back COY so Pop is out.  Doc won't get it, not with a loaded roster of proven all star vets, same thing with Donovan.

Unless these teams win 65 games their coaches won't win.

It's between Kidd and Stevens and which team gets to 50 or has a higher playoff seed.

Of course any perceived bad team that plays well ... The coach will always be in discussion. Could be A good case for Karl if he gets the Kings clicking.
