I think we have very different opinions on their depth. I don't think any of Patterson, Scola, James Johnson or Bennett are actually good.

I consider DeRozan an SG and they really like Powell, between DeRozan, Young and Powell I think that's enough at the 2.

They would trade Ross for Sully and Young if they Liked Young, thought Sully was undervalued and didn't plan on resigning Ross in the offseason.

I'd much rather target DeRozan if Toronto starts poorly, and decides they don't want to pay him the big bucks.

Their PF poo poo platter is one motley crew. Sully's the best player of the bunch.

I would rather develop Ross into what he should be -- an effective bench chucker -- and pay him like one, than try to convince DeRozan he's not a star before watching him get paid like one as a UFA in next summer's weak FA crop.

Patrick Patterson is a better stretch 4 option than Sullinger.

I also prefer James Johnson as a defender at the 4 over Sullinger.

Scola makes for a fine backup to both the 4 and 5.

Meanwhile, Toronto has very little depth on the wings.

Trading Ross for Sullinger and Young would give TOR a bench of Young, Caboclo (now just one year away from being two years away?), and a rookie in Powell. If DeRozan or Carroll were to miss time due to injury, the Raps would be in serious trouble.

If Derozan is a SG, then they are thin at SF.  Overall, they are thin at wing.  They have what are perceived as a high-quality top three wings, but after that.....they may be high on Powell, but that doesn't mean they want to give him too many minutes too early.  Toronto is better able to withstand a big missing a few games due to injury rather than a wing.
