I'd like to get one of the top picks and send it out with the next disgruntled star. Maybe Paul George was so insulted to be asked to play PF that he demands a trade and we have the best offer. Maybe The Heat under perform and decide to let Bosh go and embrace the youth movement. Something something somthing Demarcus Cousins.

If we were to use the pick, Ben Simmons, Jaylen Brown, or Brandon Ingram would top out my list. Dragan Bender might be the BPA but I'm still clinging to the belief that Kelly Olynyk can turn into a player, which would make Dragan Bender somewhat redundant.

KO certainly is playing more aggressive. Started aggressive last night and sucked. Continued to play aggressive and eventually turned his night around. He has height and talent. Now he's getting into the right mindset.

Imagine we get two top 3 picks from Dallas and Brooklyn and take Simmons and Skal.  :D

If only it were that simple . . . .

I think the Dallas pick is Top 7 protected.

Ah yes, that's right.  I forgot about that in my moment of dreaming.  :P  I was thinking, well, it could fall outside the top 7 and then move up into the top 3 via the lottery.

But of course, then we wouldn't get to keep it.

Anyways, a top 3 pick and pick number 8 would still do quite nicely.
Celtics trade for 2017 picks and prospects and we could end up with a better pick than BKN. Also, theres gonna be at least 1 player that makes a leap.

OR
C's miss the playoffs this year by 1 game (ok, so that's not such a great thing in itself) but end up getting the top 2 picks in the lottery via their pick and Brooklyn's, get #8 from Dallas (who finished at #7 but got bumped by us when we jumped up) and get #13 from Minny (who finished at #12 but got bumped by us when we jumped).

by winning that lottery we go from a pre-lottery high Nets pick and late-lotto C's pick to #1, #2, #8 & #13 --> talk about a swing in excitement and anticipation (while consoling ourselves over missing the playoffs).

(oh, and almost forgot the sweet, sweet pleasure of rubbing the noses of those lovers of the Philly-plan for team improvement in our success in being competitive yet improving far beyond what they can dream for)

I think I will wait to decide after these guys have actually played in a real college game. My guess is half or more of the guys listed in the current top tens on Draftxpress and NBADraft.net won't be drafted in the top ten. Also, people were hollering abou. Needing to tank for this last year's draft 2-3 years ago because Towns and Okafor were supposed to be Hall of Fame type talent. After seeing them in college I seriously doubt either is an all-time great. Let's have some patience. Let's see what these 17-18 year olds can do first. My guess is could very well be salivating over a completely different set of prospects come next year's draft.

I don't know if Towns will be another Derrick Favors, or if he'll turn into somebody like Al Horford, but I really believe Okafor is a legitimate talent.  Really wish the Celts could have gotten him.

Not saying either of them is gonna be in the Hall someday, but I'd be thrilled if the Celts had a prospect on the roster like either of those guys.

Gotta hope on that Nets pick, I guess.

I agree with you, though, that whoever the Celts end up taking probably isn't even near the top of most of these mock drafts yet.

Agreed, I've seen a good deal of people on this site and others claim that KO's a lost cause with no ceiling but from everything he's shown between the NBA and Team Canada this summer he looks right along where his development path should have him, which is a testament to his coachability and work ethic.

He had a forgettable freshman year of College. Redshirted his Sophomore year in order to refine his body and game while LSU rode fellow Canadian Robert Sacre and was a dominant force in the NCAA as a junior (Redshirt Sophomore).

Think KO is the type that want's to find his place in a system rather than force his game into it. That way once he start producing to his talent level, others will already be established in their own roles and the whole team benefits. I've got a buddy that I play with who's like that.

1. Brandon Ingram- has the elite size, seems like a good kid, lights out shooter, crafty scorer.. can potential turn into a 25 point scorer, solid to good athlete.. gonna grab boards, block shots, and make plays defensively with his length

2. Jaylen Brown- like him a the 2 where he can use his bully ball style... doesn't have many weaknesses... plays hard and locks up on d.. can attack and is remarkably quick and explosive first step.. jumper is solid.. offensive and body reminds me of joe johnson

3. Ben Simmons- tough fit on basically every NBA team... wouldn't be an awful fit here, better Evan Turner... like his ability to play pg for the whole game.. leader, great size for a 3... athletic and plays outstanding defense... seems a little soft though and jumper is broken

4. Jamal Murray- can do everything.. pretty athletic, has a scorers mentality with take over capabilities... shoots the 3 well, is a crafty scorer... Chauncey Billups

5. Skal Labissiere- can shoot and is a really good offensive player for a big.. can block shots at the high school and college level.. gonna be average on the boards.. severely lacks length for a center (7'1.5" wingspan)

??????

If you mean the Celtics will trade current players for picks and prospects so that the Celtics suck next year and get a lower pick than Brooklyn in 2017 when they have the right to swap picks, I gotta say I don't see that coming anywhere close to happening. The Celtics, at this point, can build towards improving their playoff chances while gettin lottery picks from the Nets for the next three years.
