With some hard work and the right opportunity he might one day be as good as Brandon Bass.

Weren't the Celtics offered him in a trade for virtually nothing before the draft and turned it down?  I doubt anything has changed since then. If he made league minimum, I would happily to take a shot, but that's not the case.

I still think Bennett has the tools to have a productive future in this league.  I'm not sure if he'll get it together, but the guy has the tools.

As I understand it, the offer as reported was not virtually nothing.

It was, would you rather have Anthony Bennett at $5-7 million per year, or RJ Hunter at 1 million per year?

Like others have said, the clip means almost nothing. Uncontested dunks have no value. The turnaround midrange looks OK but again he is essentially unguarded.

Can he set a pick? Pass? Rebound? Defend the post? RUN?

If we're going to take a chance on young damaged goods, give me Greg Oden.

Who knows what the truth is, but the rumors were Minnesota giving up #31 and 38 and Bennet for #28.  http://www.celticsblog.com/2015/6/24/8838237/nba-trade-rumor-celtics-have-discussed-anthony-bennett-deal-with

Yeah, we have four PF's on this roster who have proven they can play (Lee, Sully, Johnson, Olynyk)  and two PF prospect who seems to have talent/potential (Mickey, Jones).

If we acquire another PF prospect then we can make it 7 PF's overall.  Three more and we can have an entire starting lineup and an entire bench make up entirely of Power Forwards! :)

I especially like ones like Bennett, who is making it on every single "top 10 draft busts of all time" list I've seen :)

Honestly, the whole trading for Sully idea - mmm no.  I think i'd rather offer Sully a max contact than waste $7M on Bennett...and I REALLY don't want to give Sully a max.

I would be interested in giving Anthony Bennett a chance but we have a full roster

He looks to be in excellent shape now, a definite positive, but I'm not convinced he'll ever be as good as Sully is now. And with our logjam at PF, it doesn't make any sense for us to acquire him. I'd like to see someone give him one last shot though.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
He's more the kind of guy we will sign next year for $2-$3M when he doesn't get the qualifying offer from Minny.

I agree. Similar to what happened to Biyombo and Turner

As much as I like Bennet (and I really do like him and am optimistic on him) that video was more edited than a Hillary advertisement and the defense might as well have been the chair that Yi played against.
