Hunter without question knows how to play the game and Young better hope he can catch up because Hunter has passed him.

Someone said he's the best ball handler on the team I think they need to look at Rozier for that IMO.

I think Hunter is a better and smoother passer and the offense as a whole ran better with the ball in his hands. Rozier has better handles and shot creation ability, though.

Hunter has better vision than Rozier and can make tougher passes... Rozier is more of a drive and dish type player... Hunter will have a low turnover percentage going forward..

rj is the kind of player that may play better at the next level ,with defined roles  and time to concetrate on taking high % shots and targets to pass to that can finish-by pre season he will have months in gym and trainers to help him increase lateral ,work on his legs and core-no more school and he gets to do what he loves-smart was called by heinson the best defender as rookie ever, isiah has to be one of the best penetrators, avery known for his d-i'm sure at next level rj will be dissecting what sees and adapting to his game-he will not waste his time on the bench or in the waltham practice facility-

His basketball IQ is impressive, you can see it how he gets in lane of passes on D, is the near the ball on rebounds, and his passing.

I noticed when he misses his feet are not lined up a lot or he twists them.

he does alot of little things right. He just LOOKS like an nba player already. Always plays within himself and in control. He knows what he can do and does it.

TP. Agree 100%. He could be a better NBA player than NCAA player with all the talent around him at the NBA level he doesnt have to do too much. I think he actually said something along those lines in an interview. Can just come in and contribute and do what I do best type of response

Honestly, RJ was way undersold by draft 'experts' as a spot up shooter. His stroke IS downright gorgeous, but I've been most impressed by his fantastic passing skills, great hustle, and surprising tenacity on defense. He's just so smart out there and let's the game run through him, it's amaxing to see that in any rookie, especially one who was drafted #28 overall.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

During the broadcast yesterday on NBATV, they said RJ got an invite to an awards show in LA on Wednesday (the ESPYS, thought it was funny that they would not say it by name) because his shot from the NCAA tourney was nominated for an award.  RJ turned it down, even though the Celts had an off day because he did not "want to mess with the great continuity the team had going on".  They said other guys, including Jalil Okafor went to the awards show and they had games.

That's all you need to know about RJ Hunter.  The guy is legit.

I also love those passes he makes off the curl.

I liked it when the drafted Hunter (I wanted him at 16) but I was concerned about his defense as he had played 85% zone, so far I have been impressed with his defense and overall game.
2019 historical draft.  Pick 12

Tim Duncan, Oscar Robertson, Elgin Baylor, Scottie Pippen, Willis Reed, Mitch Richmond, Sam Jones, Dan Majerle, Bob Cousy, Rasheed Wallace, Shawn Kemp, Marcus Camby

Dump Young.
Hunter is the real deal. He reminds me of Prince.

Tayshaun or the musician?
I guessing either one.  Prince was a baller too you know.

I like Hunter in game .   the other four play more like a team when he is in.    Hunter is playing TEAM basketball ....all the time.....doing all the little things correctly ......attention to detail unreal for a player his age .    He loves film and studying .....his father schooled hi on the fine points of the game .

Even when Hunter is shooting really BAD .....I still want him IN the game .    Because I see all the other cool stuff he is doing to help his team.

He does the KO thinking thing , but plays better Defense and handles the ball pretty good for 6 6"

When most players are shooting poor .....you think.....get that guy out........not Hunter though   With me I feel he is critical to the success for the team.

When he is knocking down shots .....it's like Curry ,   You give up Sooooooo much on others trying to contain him......that's the way old Ray Allen drew attention ......frees up the rest of the team.

Hunter is as important to the offense , as Jae Crowder and Mickey are for Defense .

Hunter and Mickey can add extra help in lacking areas right off the bat.

CBS .....didn't get Hayward ,  but he has got pretty close with Hunter and his IQ .

Hunter is going to play a lot for Stevens .  Hunter will be certain to keep the game plan going .

Hunter is a keeper.

But the bashing of Young is a joke. He just got back from an injury, and played very aggressively last night.  He looked fine to me.

His shot did not fall much, but he was able to draw contact. Just Like Hunter. I think Young is younger than Hunter, too.  So i would not be too fast to write him off and dump him. Let him prove out. Then if the time is right, we can think about trading him.

I thought the Young bashing was fair his first couple games, but last night he looked pretty good.  Especially coming off the injury.

The whole "I added 30 lbs of muscle" seems a bit bogus, but he does seem quicker on defensive slides.

Dont trade him. I think his value is at its all-time low right now. I still have pretty high hopes for him.

I like Hunter's passing, I bet CBS is drooling over it too. People shouldn't worry about the shooting at this point, all these guys are going to put the ball up if they want to since its SL. What we should be looking at it's when he drives and his decision-making with the ball, due to his size and touch defenders tend to overanticipate him trying to score but he has the vision to set guys up which is just great, he's trying to show that he's more than just a spot up guy. Even though that will be his bread and butter in the league.
