This is super minor, but notice Bradley pays homage to Rondo and KG by saying "I learned a lot from [Rajon] Rondo, KG [Kevin Garnett], and those guys. I learned to be a professional on and off the court."

First, if you're learning how to be a professional by following Rondo's lead, I'm afraid you're probably learning the wrong lessons. But where's the love for Pierce--you know, the guy who actually served as captain during the Big Three era?  I suppose he's implicitly  referenced when Bradley says "those guys" but...

I think it has more to do with the fact that he and Rondo were close (and AB looked up to him), and that KG was the defensive leader of the team.  I doubt he meant to slight Pierce, just that it slipped his mind
I'm bitter.

If the Celtics name a captain, I think it should be whoever is the heart of the defense, not the best offensive player, just to emphasize a defense-first mentality.

With all due respect to bradley, smart is the man who should be captain.

Sure avery learned from kg etc and that's what made him who is is today. However, Smart is who he is on his own.

That's what being a leader is all about.

Both prominent vets are new this year, and the other guys are still establishing themselves. I'd go for a bridge year of zero captains, before maybe Smart and/or someone else is ready in a year.
